The Excelsior - uncovering the design

So that is the 2nd filming model I been looking for! My best guess is its name is around 8 letters long. It's probably something dumb like the USS Excise or something. The USS Excel was a top mounted prop that had the rod mounted around the impulse engines. This ship and NCC-4186 (but only top down picture I have it appears to be labeled USS Alert) are my biggest mystery ships that I am trying to find more information on. I have 2 of the 3 Miranda's identified, USS Trial (of course) and USS Late NCC-9481. I have a feeling the dark neck Galaxy's are lost and we really won't know what those are labeled.

I did not know they used the AMT kit. Thanks for digging that up. Looks like the key giveaway is that the front of the nacelles don't glow like the Jein model and the CG model.
