The Event- still watching?

They really need to tie the Sean Walker storyline more into the main plot with the aliens and the President than they already have. So far it seems like it's own show.

I like the FBI Agent working with Sean.

Straight out aliens is boring.

They're not from the future otherwise (Scotty and transparent aluminium aside.) they wouldn't have dared to invent fission , but they could be from a mirror universe or thousands of years in the past...

The human drama is not compelling, so I need to know what the bloody scfi trapping is before I die of boredom!

I agree that the alien angle is a let down. I was hoping they were evolved humans or time displaced humans, that had gained some type of powers due to the displacement. The alien thing is boring, especially since they look and act human for the most part.

Not watching. I had set my cut-off at the third episode. But after the first two, I couldn't bring myself to keep watching. I had no investment in either the story, the characters, or the style.

Just a horrid, wretched example of television.

I think that the Sean Walker character is probably one of the aliens, only he doesn't know it yet. C'mon, an orphan on this type of show is just asking for that sort of reveal.

Lost failed (for me) in the final season. Tripe.

For that reason, I decided not to commit to The Event after Episode 1. Life's too short.

Lost failed in the final season for me too.

I just started Fringe and have decided to enjoy the journey (individual episodes of it are great) and not get too caught up in the mythology ("The Pattern" and "The Observer") and think that they'll come close to answering their questions.

The last episode I watched was the one where we found out about that agent's past (I can't remember his name). It was when the building blew up. I actually liked that they had a flashback which gave depth to the character and actually made me interested in him...but then they killed him so that was that.

It's not worth watching just to find out what the event actually is. I have better things to do with my time.

I'm not paying that much attention to the show but I though the Event was the aliens crashing on Earth 60 or so years ago.

Is it supposed to be something else they haven't showed yet?

Maybe "The Event" is the show's cancellation. Wouldn't that be a good swift kick in the ass.

ahaha

I made that joke...

The cancellation of the show... IS the event!

I thnik the event has something to do with the sun going super nova or a gama ray burst or a comet. Something that will destroy all of mankind.

Watched the first episode, forgot about it the second episode. Then decided I'll wait until the DVD is released. Later I heard it was bumped to a later timeslot. Now, don't really care.

Well, it was a mind fuck in Threshhold when we found out in the last episode that submitting to the mutation which we thought was colonization was the only way humanity was going to survive an oncoming radiation wave.

Meh?

^ Well that doesn't sound very interesting.

Well it is... The Event!
But from what I got about the last episode, the alien leader pretty much said "what's the point of staying here, when they (meaning us) don't have much time left?"

It's clear that they weren't invading, they crashed her on mistake.

Ive relegated it to background tv. ie have it on while im doing something else.

Im just not being sucked in by the characters and story.
