The ENT Timeline's Survival (STXI Spoilers)

As an Enterprise fan, I was thrilled (maybe giddy) with the Enterprise references. Finally some respect within the fandom. If they never mention any Enterprise again, I'm good with what we did get. Though, I must admit to wondering if T'Pol was on Vulcan at the time of its destruction and if Trip was the professor Scotty got into the argument with. But I can fanwank those answers.

Well...with Trip being dead, probably not. :p

Of course!
wasn't Jonathan - it was Trip after he'd completed his spy operations on Romulus, now having taken his friend's name to return to Starfleet since "Trip" is dead, and having become a professor at the Academy and purchased a beagle from the Archer Kennels.
...what? :shifty:

Meanwhile in the 24th Century, an 137-year old Leonard McCoy can be found hitting on green chicks by introducing himself as James Kirk...

<shudders>

Since the books say Trip isn't dead and I've never seen the Valentine, I'll stick to my belief Trip is very much alive at the time of this movie.

I am sad about Porthos, though. Bad Scotty.

Once you read the books (TGTMD at least) you can retcon the "Valentine" quite nicely. A look passes between Phlox and Archer that is immediately recognizable as "I hope this plan works, fingers crossed".

Of course this is the only good scene in the Valentine.

1. Trip isn't dead.

2. When someone said that Admiral Archer's prized beagle was lost in a transporter accident - they didn't necessarily mean Porthos. Many people are partial to certain breeds of dogs. This prized beagle could be Portho's offspring.
