The Elder Scrolls V in Production

I wouldn't be able to take advantage of such a release, I already spent a collective $120 or so on all the battle chests

As has been said, you don't need GOTY for vampirism. But you do need it to be a werewolf.

Tribunal is kinda sad in a way, and its exceptionally hard. Bloodmoon is a bit easier I think. They add two totally different environments. Solstheim is a Nordic-style paradise of trees, snow, and hills teeming with wolves and bears. Mournhold is a massive city enclosed by walls you cannot pass.

Personally I think thats a huge let-down. I'm hoping that Tamriel Rebuilt will create an outside environment and allow you to leave the city.

^ While I wouldn't describe Tribunal as a letdown per se, I agree that it really made you want to go outside Mournhold and see the mainland portion of the province of Morrowind.

You mean Cyrodiil, I think. ;) And I agree, it would've been cool to see that in Morrowind.

There's a mod that attempts to do this, a little bit.

No, actually I don't ;) I was referring to the mainland portion of the province of Morrowind (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:TamrielMap.jpg), because the game Morrowind only let's you explore the island portion of the province of Morrowind, i.e. Vvardenfell. Wow, I'm such a smartass today.

Oh, right. When I think of Morrowind I only really think of Vvardenfell. I forget there's a mainland portion.

^ A mainland? I forgot that most of the series's world is on a single continent until I created a new character in Daggerfall. I never looked at the maps or read the appendices in LOTR, and it's staying that way!

Yeah, and actually you revisit some of the Daggerfall locations in Oblivion, so that's kind of why I feel there should be a new continent.

Yeah, Tribunal just feels a bit too linear. Mostly I use it to sell off artifacts for money at the museum.

Hehe. I love the lore behind Tribunal, though. Also, the iconic red armor :mallory:

A propos cool armor, I was severely disappointed that you couldn't join the Imperial Legion in Oblivion. Just wearing their armor just isn't the same as actually being part of the faction.

The Elder Scrolls V: SKYRIM just announced tonight on Spike TV's Video Game Awards! :D

Set for release on November 11, 2011. :techman:

Skyrim? Not that great a title. I mean, Morrowind was a province and that made a better title. Skyrim just doesn't sound very appealing. Are they picking random provinces as titles now?

Fantastic news! Oblivion is a game I've completed 2 or 3 times now, been waiting on a sequel since 2007 :D

Bethesda have confirmed that TESV will run on an entirely new engine.

Writing on Twitter, Brecon commented, “We can now confirm that the TES V: Skyrim engine is all-new. And it looks fantastic.”

Furthermore, he also confirmed that the engine is very much an in-house affair, stating, “It’s a new graphics/gameplay engine built internally. We’ll have more details down the road.”

Whatever, just as long as it doesn't come with Bethesda's usual bugs and glitches. I may or may not have a new PC by the time this comes out, so I might have to play this on console, which would mean I wouldn't be able to rely on mods to fix a lot of the usual issues.

OH, HELLS YES!

Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, and Elder Scrolls 5. I feel like there are bright and shiny things in the world again. :D
