I'm not a follower of ball sports (except football/soccer sometimes), but this Paui Green thing is pretty sad.

He was only talking to his old teammates a few days before, his son's ninth birthday was only the day before, and... he did for himself. What had happened???

I know I was looking at recent photos, he was 49 and greyer than me. My son suggested post-concussion long-term brain trauma.

I do wonder about life, I really do.

^ I was kind of shocked when I heard about it. Naturally I've had other things on my mind lately (I was in hospital for the past 9 days). Haven't looked into the whole story yet. Might later.

The Green news was just awful. Dreadful for his family and all who knew him. You never know what problems people are battling while they appear to be okay.

When even Andrew Bolt is telling you where to go and what to do when you get there, you're well and truly done.

scumo has a little problem.

He entered parliament after 2004 so does get the nice big chuck o post politics cash like his predecessors and no-one in the private sector seems to want him (funny about that) so all he can do is sit on the back bench like a lump of his beloved coal.

time to break out the little violins.

scumo is going to take part in the hearing about his secret ministries but he and his boosters at fox sky news are whinging that he didn't get a copy of the terms of reference (which are publicly available).

Sad news, Basia Bonkowski, former host of 'Rock Around The World' (SBS equivalent to 'Rock Arena') has passed away.

Last episode of Mad As Hell, tomorrow, so don't miss it.

ETA: one of the funniest episodes of TV satire I've seen, and is up on iView.

Are we going to talk about the Optus hack? 10,000 customers details so far leaked 10 million customers in total affected, I did start a thread with an ABC article about this in science and technology. Optus messaging on this is piss poor.

I've had my info stolen carelessly mishandled by lazy Corporations too cheap to invest in quality security twice with zero impact, so far. knock on wood

I am not saying it isn't a big deal, it is and it peeeves me off they were so careless in the first place, but it seems the follow up actions do more to protect victims after an info hack.

Only because of the public backlash and noise being made about it. I don't think Optarse would have done much had no one kicked up some kind of stink, and the way the CEO is acting with tears and all doesn't seem all that professional either. The Federal Govt. has requested Optus pay for the costs of people replacing passports and licenses. No word yet if they will do this.

Was at my local motor registry yesterday on a different issue, and there was 2 queues. one for regular things, and one just for getting new licenses as the lic nos. were hacked too.

It's a shitshow all round. The license number hack was part of the Optus hack, ID details including medicare numbers too. Because those are used as ID to get phone services from Optus and other telcos.

Also are we importing US and UK style culture wars?
