"The Doomsday Machine" Line-by-Line

(Bridge)

Spock: It came up on us fast, Captain, but we seem able to maintain our distance.

 

[Claudia]

Kirk: We are blind here. What does it look like?

 

[Ziz]

(Decker and McCoy enter the bridge. The viewscreen shows a cone shaped object in profile.

Spock: It looks very much like Commodore Decker's planet killer. And it is pursuing us.

(The object turns to face the Enterprise.)

Spock: We are more manoeuvrable, but it is gaining on us. Sensors indicate some kind of total conversion drive.

[Constellation Auxiliary Control]

Spock: No evidence of life, subspace interference level incredibly high.

 

[Leandar]

Kirk: Whatever it is, we can't let it go beyond us to the next solar system. We have to stop it. If it's a robot, what are the chances of deactivating it?

 

[Claudia]

Spock: I would say none, captain. The energy generated by our power nacelles seems to attract it. I doubt we could maneuver close enough without drawing a direct attack upon ourselves. I also believe the nature of this machine precludes the idea of easy access to its control mechanisms.

 

[Enterprise1981]

SULU: It's closing on us, Mister Spock.

 

[Alienesse]

Spock: Closing, Captain.

 

[Claudia]

Kirk: All right. Lower your deflector screens long enough to beam us aboard.

 

[Enterprise1981]

SPOCK: Acknowledged.

 

[Alienesse]

Spock (OC): Transporter Room, stand by to beam landing party aboard.

Kyle: Ready to beam, sir.

 

[LeadHead]

Planet Killer fires at Enterprise. Bridge crew is thrown from their stations, there are small explosions in the transporter room.

Spock: Evasive action Mister Sulu.

 

[Alienesse]

Sulu: Aye, sir.

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: Damage report all stations.

 

[Alienesse]

Kyle (OC): Mister Spock, the transporter's out.

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: Affect repairs. Captain Kirk, come in please.

 

[Alienesse]

Kirk (OC): Kirk here.

 

[LeadHead]

Spock: Captain, we've been attacked. Transporter is damaged, we're taking evasive action.

 

[Alienesse]

Palmer: Mister Spock, communication's damaged. We're unable to override interference.

 

[Ssosmcin]

Spock: "Damage in communications, Captain. Interference will make--" message breaks up.

 

[LeadHead]

Kirk: Spock, come in Spock. SPOCK! We're stuck, blind and deaf!
