The Doctor's wife - preview and trailer

I'm expecting a voyager-esque will they get home/is it a time lord story

Will they get home?/Is it another Time lord?

NOOOOOOO, of course not! Silly viewer.

Count me disinterested

Oh, come on... "The Doctor's Wife?" "who is she?"

Who's an apparently living being, self-aware, identified as female, who he couldn't live without, and has spent centuries in the closest relationship with?

The TARDIS.
I wonder if the explosion of Mount Mad Larry will be visible on this side of the Atlantic.

(For those who don't know what this is in reference to, see the short story "Toy Story" or the character of Compassion for the reasons.)

Maybe she'll surprise in this episode?

As for Romana...well, E-Space would be a convenient way of bringing her back.

Don't need E-Space, really. The Audios have Romana as returning to Gallifrey and being President for "A Very Long Time"

I get the feeling we might be building this up too much. I think it could be some alien pretending to be a timelord to attract other timelords and take their power, ship etc.

That would work with the stuff about people being willing to kill for a single cell of TimeLord.

There was also the part of the series trailer where a disembodied voice boasted about having killed hundreds of Timelords and the Doctor answered he had killed all of them. Maybe that's from this episode?

So does The Doctor say "There is a living time lord out there?" and if so I think his reaction is of particular interest. The last time The Doctor (10) was hit with the possibility that another Time Lord might have survived it was deep denial and then anger.

Steven Moffat has said that the Doctor reacted that way to news of another Time Lord's survival in "Utopia" because he was remembering encountering his tenth self from when he was in his fifth incarnation (as seen in "Time Crash") -- and specifically remembering his tenth self telling his fifth self that he had just encountered the Master. When the Time War finished, the Doctor had just believed that time had been re-written again and he would never encounter the Master, nor any other Time Lord, again. But when Martha told him about the fob watch, he immediately remembered his encounter with his tenth self and realized that that meant the Master had survived and was about to re-enter his life.

Given what happened in "Time Crash" it's not implausible but I think the simplest explanation is that the Doctor was certain he was alone and then suddenly he was hit with the news that it might not be true.

The Face of Boe also told him he was not alone either.

But The Doctor didn't put two and two together until he realized that You Are Not Alone stood for Yana. I'm sure that he might have speculated on what The Face Of Boe meant but by all appearances he didn't know until the end of "Utopia"

Oh, I think it's pretty obvious he knew it was the Master the instant Martha started talking about the fob watch. He immediately got panicked and frantic at the thought. "WHAT DID HE SAY?," etc.

Well, it could've been anyone that provoked that reaction, given that the last time he saw the Time Lords, they were moments away from destroying the universe. Any one of them might've intended to finish the job. He might've been just a little relieved that it was only the Master and not Rassilon.
