I guess everybody else is on their own. (Though supposedly Australia and New Zealand also got Edward Scissorhands, plus Eddie the Eagle and a couple Night at the Museums.)

Disney+ is in the early development stage of a live-action/CG hybrid remake to the 1976 animated classic Robin Hood. The studio is bringing back Kari Granlund, who penned the Lady and the Tramp remake, to write the screenplay for Blindspotting helmer Carlos Lopez Estrada to direct.

They said last week that they will have the early Simpsons episodes in their original non-cropped aspect up by the end of May. According to the article on Gizmodo, it will be set up like they were on the FXX app, where will get to choose if you want the original 4:4 version or the cropped 16:9 versions.
Dammit. I actually want this one. The original Robin Hood is one of those movies I want to like, but can't quite manage to. It's a good idea with room for actual improvement.
Plus, photorealistic anthro animals? Yes please. I've only been waiting 20 years for Hollywood-level VFX to get thrown at furry characters. (And Cats doesn't count.)
It'd be nice if they could find a way to do this for everything. I hate all the widescreen movies that get cropped to fit 16:9 on TV. Though stretched out old TV shows is generally worse, some retro channels are unwatchable despite the content. Some of the lazier ones that just stretch without cropping can be fixed by manually setting the TV aspect ratio.
I honestly hadn't even noticed they were doing that with the movies, I had just assumed they were all in their original ratios.
Laff has all of their shows in a tiny little square or rectangle in the midlle of the screen. It drives me crazy, so I haven't watched anything on there since they started that.

Very few people do seem to notice but I did find this which might explain it. I can really tell when I'm watching that scenes don't seem composed right but most don't know what I mean.

Now that you mention it, I think I do remembering being surprised when I was watching an older movie and being surprised it took up the whole screen, but I had just assumed it was originally done in 16:9. I had thought they stopped that kind of thing years ago. I'm picky about that and always go with the original aspect ratio whenever possible, I'd always go widescreen DVDs or VHSs back when they used to offer fullscreen or widescreen versions.
Most of the DVDs and Blu-Rays do at least seem to stick to the original aspect ration.
I will sometimes watch stuff that's cropped, like I do watch the older Simpsons on FXX, but that's just because I don't want to spend on money on the DVDs.

I was wondering about the nudity when they added Splash to Disney+, and apparently they did remove some of it. In one of the scenes where they show Madison run back into the water naked, they very badly added extra hair to cover her ass. There's a GIF of it, and it looks ridiculous, it's not actually attatched to the rest of her hair, and it doesn't move or anything. So it just looks like a weird random clump of hair on her ass. They also didn't bother to cover up her bare breasts in the scenes where they're visible.
Prop Culture premiers May 1st. This show looks awesome, I can't wait to see it!

A couple May the 4th announcements, with a brand new Mandalorian behind the scenes series and an early Clone Wars finale.
I doubt we'd get TROS too that day, since it would kind of overshadow the other two. (Though if they do put it on D+ early, they'd probably wait until the week before to announce it, in an effort to drive digital sales for the time being.)

Finally bit the bullet and bought a subscription for Disney+ through my existing Hulu (no ads) account. It’s only a dollar a month more and I’ll have to deal with ads now on Hulu, but I also get ESPN+ so I guess it’s worth it.
Disney has SO much more content than what is available on the site. Guess they’re rolling it out slowly. Anyway looking forward to checking out The Mandalorian and other stuff.

Not a super huge list this week, but the European lists look far more impressive. This is a big part of why they released those "old" originals weekly instead of all at once when the service debuted in these countries, so there would be more new content to debut as the weeks and months passed.

Disney+ announced a few more things this afternoon:
-Maleficent Mistress of Evil is coming on May 15 (for the US at least)
-All 15 episodes of a new D+ Original game show called The Big Fib will drop on May 22. And this is right after Disney+ debuts all 8 episodes of Prop Culture on May 1. We'll see if these are just a few experiments or if they're a sign of things to come.

So a few weeks have passed since i got Disney+ and i don't know if i'll keep it. Obviously Disney is a family friendly company, so adult themes or too much violence/sex/mature themes won't find their way on there and i'm fine with it.
However i do see a discrepancy between Netflix and Disney, i.e. Netflix still has the more interesting shows even if you ignore the more mature shows that Netflix is able to show. I don't have kids for which Disney+ would be a treasure trove and most of what they have currently i either already have and have seen a million times or i'm not interested in.
If this doesn't change i'll probably cancel Disney after the year is over.
