I think the only gripe I have is the toys not being released until Fall 2018. I was hoping at least a couple things would be out to coincide with the airing of the first season, as far as toys. I am happy to be getting things at all, given the near non-existence of marketing for the last two movies!

i kept thinking to myself that eaglemoss should've had the two discovery ships ready to roll out at comic con last month. star trek has a habit of releasing its merch well after excitement has died down.

I agree. I never understood why completely, but the only thing I can think of is that Trek sales have never been sure things (as opposed to Star Wars, where there will always be a kid who wants something from it) and people are being cautious.

I get excited seeing the Trek Hot Wheels items, because you simply don't see many Trek items in the toy aisle anymore.

was happy to get my QMX badge before the series (even if end up disliking the show, it's star trek so i want it) but i think that's it for high-end merchandise for at least 6 months.

if it's caution, it's also self defeat... people will obviously be less inclined to buy star trek beyond uniforms (ANOVOS i'm looking at you) a full year after that movie came out than if the movie was still in theaters, or at least new on blu-ray.

I'm thinking the ships and some of the other props were all hush hush to prevent leaks, which is why they're late.

That & I don't think the show had finalized the look of some of the ships (paint, etc) until very recently. Ben Robinson who is charge of the Ships Collection at Eaglemoss brought the initial samples of the Discovery and Shenzou to Star Trek Las Vegas in early August but they were unpainted. I can't remember exactly but he had either just gotten final sign off from the show or expected it very soon. Factor in production time & there is no way they would have been ready by late September.

Eaglemoss hoped to have the ships beginning early next year & take subscriptions by New York Comic Con in October.

I just got a badge at Trekonderoga. Pretty damn good quality.

I want a model kit of the Discovery.

Moving up in the world if they're for sale! Back in the day my college roommate and I used to steal these things (well for Alien 3 and the Batman movies) out of the bus shelters in Philadelphia. Eh, we all evolve eventually... ;)

Those are actually video motion posters. You'd have to steal the whole video display! I'm hoping they sell them online.

I don't think I've ever heard of motion posters being sold online. If they get posted online you could always just save the clips.

I wish the soundtrack was scheduled. Do we even know who is scoring the series yet?
