Back on topic: I love the Short Treks, but I think people take them far too seriously. The first 9 are just a companion piece to Disco, the 10th a prelude to Picard.

I stopped Discovery in season 3, so I don't recognise her... and at first I thought it was a parody. But the more I watched, the more legitimate the footage seemed. But surely there's someone not that toxic in Discovery? And if so, what's the context?

Discovery is the closest star trek has been to TNG.

Showing a comedic short treks doesn't change that.

TNG could be boring. It was through most of Season 1 through 3. I tried a rewatch and stopped after two episodes.

Discovery could be boring. I often would step away and rewatch it in parts.

TNG was never always interesting. Discovery was never always boring.
