KIRK: Never mind. Just come down to the twenty third level. You'll be led to us by tricorder readings. Kirk out.

 

[Leandar]

Spock: Jim, I remind you that this is a silicon based form of life. Dr. McCoy's medical knowledge will be totally useless.

 

[Enterprise1981]

KIRK: He's a healer, let him heal. Mister Spock, you must re-establish communications. I want to know why it suddenly took to murder.

 

[mach7]

Spock: To obtain that kind of communication Captain, it will be necessary to touch it.

 

[HarryM]

KIRK: We've seen how the creature destroys.

(While Kirk watches, Spock approaches the Horta and establishes a full meld. Kirk takes out communicator.)

KIRK: Lieutenant Commander Giotto.

 

[Mister Atoz]

Giotto here, Captain.Are you all right?
Kirk: Perfectly all right. Where are you?

GIOTTO: We're at the end of the tunnel. Mr. Vanderberg and his men are here, and they're pretty ugly. Shall I let them through?

 

[mach7]

Kirk: Under no circumstances allow them in here yet, The minute Dr. McCoy gets there send him through.

 

[Athena28]

[Level twenty three]


GIOTTO: Aye, aye, sir.

 

[HarryM]

[Cavern]

SPOCK: (in meld) Murder. The thousands. Devils! Eternity ends. The chamber of the ages. The altar of tomorrow! Murderers! Stop them! Kill! Strike back! Monsters!

(McCoy runs in)

McCoy: What in the name of........
(McCoy walks over to Kirk)
What is Spock doing?

 

[Enterprise1981]

KIRK: It's wounded. Badly. You've got to help it.

 

[mach7]

McCoy: Help that!?

 

[Athena28]

KIRK: Go take a look.

 

[Enterprise1981]

McCoy kneels by the wound and gets out his tricorder.

SPOCK: The end of life. Murderers.

 

[Athena28]

MCCOY: You can't be serious. That thing is virtually made out of stone!

 

[Enterprise1981]

KIRK: Help it. Treat it.
