The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

I noticed something when I was watching BB the other day, they pronouce Ra's Al Ghul differently than in some of the other appearances of the character. In BB they pronounced the first part almost like a ra cheer with an s at the end, but in Arkham City they say it like ray with the sh making almost a hissing sound. I'm pretty sure I've heard the AC pronunciation in other places, but I'm not entirely sure which is correct.

Here's what I think will happen (at least in the most broad sense)

Batman is on the run having taken the blame for the death of Dent and the others. Bane uses various techniques to pull him out of hiding, including learning who he is. Upon doping so, he seriously injures him. Bruce plays into this, making it appear to the public like Bane succeeded in killing him so that he can "rise" again, operating as Batman in secrecy, since everyone thinks he's dead.

Reposting because most of what has been talked about on this page has been explained in the production notes

Spoiler for what's being discussed on this page

Christian Bale, who reprises the film’s title role, details, “In ‘Batman Begins,’ you
see the tragedy and the pain that motivates this angry young man, who feels useless
and is searching for a path—who wants to find out who he is and what he can become.
Then in ‘The Dark Knight,’ he’s discovered that path. He is useful; he is doing what he
imagines is the best thing for him to be doing in his life. Now, we are eight years on and
he has lost the one thing that gave him a purpose…until he is forced to deal with a new
threat to the city and to himself.”

Lots of production notes have (officially) been released. They do of course contain spoilers, but mostly about the eight year gap:

And (apart from the film itself) I can't wait to see a good making of about it - if I read that correctly the plane stunt in the prologue was mostly real.

Most of the production notes. About 30 pages in a .pdf

Miranda Tate/Talia pushes Wayne Enterprises to fund an enviromental project

“Miranda is somebody who is encouraging Bruce to use his
resources for the betterment of Gotham through an environmental project.

Spoiler for what it is

I don't know if people will be groaning at the thought of the same trick being used twice like Batman Begins

"Aw jeez again?"

The animated series way of pronouncing that character's name is supposed to be the correct way. I do remember David Goyer giving an explanation of why they chose to pronounce it the way it is in the Nolan trilogy, but forget what it was now.

There's a new book out which has a police report about the Joker's origin, and a little reference to Robin as well. IGN has an article about it.

It may not have any impact on TDKR at all, but there has been a lot of speculation about JGL's character so I suppose there could be a slight chance they use Robin's backstory for him. More likely it's just a cute reference for fans.

Well that certainly makes the theory about who she really is sound a lot more likely, IMO at least.

There was a whole thread about the pronounciation here:

In Summary: Depending on which dialect you use, both versions are correct.

Hmm...you thread regulars are slacking! :p

Will the lurkers be forced to find snippets of info as we get closer to the 20th!?

Apparently some lucky critics got to screen it and gave it a standing ovation.

Feel like it's a good time to bring this up again.

Didn't get to have a conversation with him, but it still boggles my mind that I somehow had the chance to personally meet one of the best directors of our generation. His name will be handed down like the greats before him and I can always tell people I had the privilege to meet him.

And I oughta print and frame this son of a ***** on my wall.

I'm so psyched for this that I'm not watching trailers or reading anything about it lol... other than the odd TV commercial I'm going in cold. Just want to experience it. :D
