The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

"Hausfrau?" "House woman"?

I think it translates as "housewife".

Yep. I opted to make the most obscure reference imaginable because it seemed apt.

I once read someone, somewhere, referring to Gary Larson's hausfraus, and that word and those dependably bespectacled women have remained ever since intertwined in my memory.

So yeah, those goggles, I am unethused. Let's see if the film version does any better.

I saw a photo online somewhere of a fan made Catwoman costume (with goggles) for a masquerade party. And this girl also had the looks for it. It looked fantastic and very well made. :techman:

So because of the goggles Kegg, you're willing to already write off the character? Okay I take back what I said earlier. Kestrel was correct. Sometimes I forget the nature of fandom. lol.

Sir, I think you've confused me with a straw man.

At what point did I suggest that a dislike of the goggles had anything to do with how the character would be written or acted in the film?

Hell pretty sure I acknowledged maybe the film's goggles have the potential to not look as bad as those comic stills.

Perhaps I did get a bit confused about what you did say. I see that you said you would wait and see what the film did. My apologies.

In fairness, when I first saw the goggles-n-suit look several years ago, I was a bit unsure too. I was really used to the B:TAS look.

I picture something akin to Michelle Ryan's outfit in Doctor Who

Or Rachel Nichols in G.I Joe

I await the moaning about the goggles. ;)
Catwoman wears goggles now?

I went and did a quick google image search to see if that looked as bad as it sounds... and it does.

Feh. Look have your luchador lug if you want but I was kind of hoping for a nice Catwoman look in this film.
Weird. It's the complete opposite for me. I've never liked any other Catwoman costume, at all. Especially the Jim Balent one, which is hideous.

Is there something wrong with my cones that makes me see purple catsuits as awful and ruinous? I felt the same way about Seven of Nine.

Also it was about time the often-physically-engaged character got a haircut and covered what was left. That she looks better, as almost all women do, with shorter hair is beside the point.

I see something similar to Rachel Nichols rather than Michelle Ryan, except with the goggles and a kitty mask of course. I am curious too if they're going to touch on the Falcone connection in this movie. Ahhhh the possibilities.

...but sexy.

Personally, I like the current costume, and I can see it looking really good on screen.
That's what I had in mind.

Lots of costume pics out there...

She looks like Rachel Miner.

Another nice shot...

More pics here.

I suspect Nolan would tone down the points on the ears and goggles, but yeah otherwise it looks like it would be a great fit.

Yep, those are the pics I saw. I think they rather lay to rest the notion that this costume couldn't work.

Well my gold standard (and by 'gold standard' I mean 'the solitary specific one I can actually remember') would be the Pfieffer, which always seemed like one of the best getups in the Burton films.

Probably would like it better without the white lines but eh.

Nah. I'm not sure the film may find a way to integrate the goggles in a way that doesn't seem goofy, but that fan attempt ain't it.

The goggles give Selina night vision, and I believe Bruce and Babs have upgraded them several times. I believe she can tap into the Oracle database and has restricted Bat-Computer access. Michelle Pfieffer's costume was a great one. I also liked the "Batman: The Animated Series" costume as well.

Take out the white lines and add the goggles, and the Pfeiffer and Darwyn Cooke costumes are pretty similar, actually.
