Anne Hathaway is Selina Kyle - The Dark Knight Rises

Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises.” She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Christopher Nolan stated, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.”

Looks like Tom Hardy will be Bane...not Hugo Strange.

Interesting. I can't wait to see how this develops. I guess we won't be getting a big hulking Bane, and Hathaway is more mainstream than I thought they'd go. I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll do Catwoman, especially her outfit.

Perfect choice. She has the acting chops and doesn't look tomboyish like Keira.

I like them both. Still not too late to add Keira Knightly as Talia!

While Anne is nice to look at, she doesn't evoke "cat" to me. She's too big and clumsy.

Yeah, I have no problem with Anne Hathaway in general. I just don't see her in the Catwoman role. Then again, I certainly didn't see Heath Ledger as Joker either, and that turned out great.

I need to wipe the drool off my keyboard and get my tongue off the floor so I'm quite pleased with the casting.

Tom Hardy is Bane? huh? That's weird and totally unexpected.

I'm holding tight to my faith in Nolan - not over Catwoman, that's totally expected, but Bane? A singularly uninteresting villain if there ever was one. But then I thought Ra's al Ghul was a bad Bond villain knock off and he pulled that one out so I suppose there's a good chance he can even make Bane interesting.

Bane? Didn't see that coming.

Sounds like a pretty radical re-interpretation

I'm guessing Nolan is drawn to the "drug" aspect of Bane's addiction to "venom."

So I guess that means Tom Hardy won't be running around with his only dialog being "Baaaaneee!!!!" :)
