The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

Re: Third Nolan Batman film title announced!

Even something like "Gotham Knight" would be good. [...]
That was, in fact, you may recall, the subtitle for The Dark Knight's animated tie-in - Batman: Gotham Knight.
Hmm, I do recall, now that you mention it. I never saw it, though.
It's worth checking out. Most of it is quite good. The best part, of course, is that Kevin Conroy returned to voice Batman. :techman:

Re: Third Nolan Batman film title announced!

Even something like "Gotham Knight" would be good. You would still have the "knight" part of it to connect it with its predecessor, and you'd have the "Gotham" part to show that Gotham City has accepted him as their protector. I think it accomplishes the same goal as "The Dark Knight Rises" without sounding so goofy.

A Gotham City Knight.

Re: Third Nolan Batman film title announced!

I'd prefer RISE OF THE DARK KNIGHT, but the title is really incidental. BATMAN BEGINS wasn't that interesting a title, either.

As much as I like THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, I assume Warner Bros. is holding that title, either for a future adaptation of the Frank Miller story, or because it could be confusing to audiences (there's already a poster here, for example, who continuously refers to the second film as THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS despite constant correction).

Re: Third Nolan Batman film title announced!

Guess they didn't go with my idea of calling it "Batman Continues".

Better than "The Caped Crusader" which sounds like it belongs to the 90s.

Really? "Dark Knight" screams 90's to me. Sounds like an Image title. I like Caped Crusader which was certainly used heavily in the old 60's show but still has a nice ring to it.
Yeah, I find it to be a campy title that Joel Schumacher would have used. "The Dark Knight" is well....Dark and stuff...

Re: Third Nolan Batman film title announced!

Caped Crusader sounds like a Batman porno. Granted, I'd probably end up watching it on a slow night.

Caped Crusader is another name for Batman, yes. But Dark Knight Rises actually seems like it'll have something to do with the theme of the movie. Just like the Dark Knight in the last movie got to have that Harvey Dent symbolism (the White Knight/Dark Knight thing). He's the caped crusader because he constantly fights for justice and, err, he has a cape. Yes, it's less repetitive, but it doesn't add anything else.

Re: Third Nolan Batman film title announced!

Yes I agree that the title has something to do with the theme of the film that Nolan wants to explore. "Batman Begins" had the obvious theme of a beginning, Bruce's journey into becoming Batman, while "The Dark Knight" was his descent into darkness and madness and the acknowledgment that sacrifice was needed in order to accomplish the things he needs to do as Batman in his ongoing war on crime. I assume the third, "The Dark Knight Rises" will touch on Bruce coming out of the darkness and embracing his role as Batman and completing the movie trilogy's cycle.

@Pyscho Pare yes this was reported last week...and there are heavy rumors that Talia will be in the movie.

Maybe it'll be about Batman getting a jet pack?

Maybe he's just horny the entire movie. :)

How about Stana Katic for Talia? She's already voicing the part for Arkham City.

Re: Third Nolan Batman film title announced!

It sucks that Joel Schumacher already used the Batman Forever title for his crapply movie. That would have been the perfect title for this.
