The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

Is this movie still on schedule, or it it being pushed back a year, too?
I heard the data shows 3-D will bring the best value for the audience. Warners wants the last installment to match the fans expectations so.....

Seriously, if WB did that someone would need to physically go find Jackson Archer and make sure he was not planning to do something harsh to Warners or himself. That and the posters over at KJ's World. I'm told they are ravenous for the film. Making crazy OW predicts of $300m domestic!!!

Good news. I was once looking forward to so many films this summer, but they all seem to be falling prey to delay.

Hey... does anyone know if there has been any indication that Hathaway's Catwoman will be using a whip? And by using I mean actually brandishing it in action scenes, not just a fashion accessory.

I've been long skeptical about Hathaway but if she can manage to crack a whip convincingly...

Only Paramount seems to be pushing their films back. From various promo material we've seen, Selina does not appear to have a whip, but instead a pistol.

Whatever is this concern about Anne Hathaway? She must be a great actress, everyone believed her when she claimed she didn't know her boyfriend was a huge crook!

Isn't the real concern that Nolan's movies have never had a believeable human female?

Rachel Dawes wasn't believable? In what way?

Well, in the Katie Holmes way....

But believable in a Maggie Gislemfaheyalhall way.

 Communists.

"Rachel Dawes"

Who?

Let me see, oh, yes, the childhood friend of the neglected billionaire trust fund child who either loves Bruce but doesn't care that he's kind of nuts running around in tights. Or is it, loves the heroic Batman but looks down on the billionaire orphan who can't get over losing his parents. Or is it loves Harvey Dent but won't commit to him because she is still a childhoof friend of a somewhat unstable loser who needs her? Who apparently never quite notices that Bruce Wayne is a billionaire because she's not even tempted?

When you're right, you're right. Everything about her spells "real woman!"

Um, I'm not sure who you're describing, because it's not not the Rachel Dawes from the movies. She DOES commit to Harvey Dent in TDK. Remember the scene where they're tied up, and the letter she writes? And she's pretty clear that she likes Bruce but doesn't like his need for Batman, and would have accepted him without that need. That characterization is pretty consistent. And what do you mean about her not noticing he's a billionaire? Of course she notices. Are you suggesting that she's not realistic because she doesn't fall over him because of his money?

You're saying that she's not a believable woman because she's inconsistent and indecisive?

Tell me, have you ever met a woman?! :p

Point to Captaindemotion.

A woman so indecisive she has to be strapped to a bomb to make up her mind would be a funny joke in a satire on stereotypes.

"Ariadne" in Inception is an exposition fairy, complete with Symbolic Name.

I've forgotten the name of Hilary Swank's character in Insomnia because she was so vague.

I can't even remember the name of the actress, much less the character, in The Prestige.

But it did occur to me that we're talking about a Batman movie, and realistic characterization is not going to be an issue.

Sorry, I lost my head for a minute.

Sorry, I lost my head for a minute.

You need to join the Game of Thrones/ A Song of Ice and Fire discussions. :p

Being a little arch for two or three posts is one thing, but that show would require serious negativity day after day after day. Why bother? It's not like the show's commenting on current politics or something.

But I am terribly flattered you like to imagine me as the heroic Ned Stark.:o
