The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

Regal cinemas takes a page out of ACM's playbook that held the MCU Avengers marathon. They are going to be holding a Nolan Batman trilogy marathon.

Regal announced that they will be holding a Dark Knight marathon on July 19th, most likley leading up to the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises.

Re:Avalon, they look good but after a few stores I've yet to see an Alfred.

I'll have to drop by the local Toys R Us to see what's there.

The case assortments for ToysRUs's has been

2 Batman
3 Banes
1 Alfred

I got my Alfred movie masters last Monday.

I saw a TRU employee setting up the DC display area. I asked him about the Dark Knight Rises figures.

He said they didn't have to worry about the 5/28 street date! If I checked in tomorrow at 1pm they should be fully out.

He asked me what figure I was looking for. He went into the backroom. He came back with the Alfred and handed it to me. It was the ONLY ONE.

I made my own stand. Don't need to buy Bane. The support for the signal piece comes from the cardboard piece of a notepad.

I might have just saved myself 20 to 40 dollars on "Dark Knight Rises" movie master figures.

Two of those metal bolts you get from computer desk shelfs support the signal.

When I saw those pics, I was like wait a minute I've seen those before. You're on Fwoosh, too. Cool.

I got mine when I stopped in a Toys R Us last Thursday. Of course, I immediately got them home and did this:

The Gordon is from last year's Movie Masters two-pack, not from the Dark Knight Rises movie line.

I don't think I noticed any toys for DKR when I was working in the toys department at Wal-Mart. We do have a ton of stuff for The Amazing Spider-Man though. While we do have a few new items, there are quite a few items that are simply redesigned versions of preexisting stuff. For instance have two versions of the "web" shooter gloves, some a basic Spidey design, and some a new glove that matches the one from ASM.

I moved back there last week, and I plan on trying to keep you guys up to date on any cool stuff I see.

I didn't see the Movie Masters line at the two Wal-Marts I hit yesterday.
TRU and Target had them though, not sure why W-M didn't.

There's more TV spots.

Looks like Morgan Freeman has nailed this role again!

It's like even bale brought up his acting game for this film.. and they all are so much better than Hathaway.. who, if anyone, will sink the film.
Indeed - one of the world's most sought after actresses, cast by Christopher Nolan who has a pretty impeccable casting record over the course of his very impressive career, playing an iconic role in one of the most anticpated movies of all time can possibly sink this film.

It's all so clear to me now. Makes total sense.

Well, me and my buddies cringe every time she delivers a line. She feels like she's trying to act, trying too hard to deliver the lines Nolan threw at her.

"I'm adaptable' - wayyy overplayed.

"You and your friends better batten down the hatches" - Anne is thinking 'damn, i better enunciate every syllable so we don't have to do another take."
an everything else.

Your argument is null and void, going only on her reputation to support it. What I see in every scene she appears in is a desperate actress caught in the blinding lights of the script.

Did that post really just happen?

I see an actress being sultry and seductive, while also throwing in a little bit of "cat" into her voice. Honesty, I was skeptical of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, but the previews have completely sold me on how she's going to perform.

"The biggest one anyone's done since the silent era."

Well, let's not establish unrealistic expectations or anything.

Yeah I never understood that. Does "one" actually mean "film"? What does it mean.

i think the film may be pretty good, as in a sufficient wrap up to the story. but lets not forget how close TDK's narrative got to totally unspooling right before our eyes. It's only because of the strong themes in the story that people overlook the impossibility of the joker doing almost anything he actually did. let's not forget the the conflict at the warehouse at the end between batman and Two Face was sloppily written and executed and only the last minute (when batman decided to take the fall and go on the motorcycle) did it feel like it was cohering at all. Let's not forget that the film has some of the clumsiest exposition delivery I've ever seen in a film.

Want proof: "With no word from the Batman, even as they mourn Commissioner Loeb, these cops have to be wondering if the joker will make good on his threat to kill the mayor.'

That's one sentence, a poorly written sentence and doesn't resemble any news item I've ever heard. It's sole purpose was to cram as much exposition into the scene as Nolan could so the viewer won't be lost. we never know exactly who the five people are that Dent supposedly killed. We never know what happened at the party after Rachel fell. There is so much in the narrative that is lacking.. it's like we simply touch it, like a house of cards, and it falls apart. I really doubt that the new film will be significantly better in terms of flow.
