Spoilers The Controversial Star Wars Opinion Thread

That's why I casted my new "Rule of 2" as antagonists to be used in the universe moving forward.

So, you’re going to posit that people with a different lifestyle are evil? That’s pretty fucked up.

The Classic Joseph Campbell style story telling.
Having Clear Defined Heros/Villains.
Lots of Action & Adventure.

The franchise has been largely white and straight for a good portion of its run.

You mean the White Male Conservative Christian Star Wars Fanbase?
As a member of this particular group I have no issue with different relationship arrangements in my fiction.

I just don't want it to be the driving force of a whole group because romantic relationships are my least favorite aspect in Star Wars, with some exceptions.

They needed Force Using "Antagonists" post 35 ABY after "The Rise of SkyWalker" ended.

With Palpatine Gone, his cult followers defeated/arrested/destroyed.
The First Order is gone.

Where are you going to find "That Many Force Users" to write stories about?

I needed a Mafia Family like setting spread amongst the stars.
With the entire Family being filled with Force Users.

And I needed to mass produce MANY Force Users for my setting.
My new "Rule of 2" would very well over a short period of time to mass produce "Force Users" in secret.

They wanted something to be upset about, I gave them what they wanted.

Even if 99.99999% of the family never do anything "Bad/Evil" by traditional definition other than live a different life style.
Which the vast majority of people won't care about.

But for the tiny amount of Force Users who do something "Bad/Evil", we have a proper setting for it as to how they came to be, and how they managed to have so much power, seemingly out of nowhere.

It's the setup to get "That many Force Users" to exist within the Star Wars Universe moving forward.

The Unknown Regions still work as a source.

At least for my purposes as I write.
Okay.

I wanted the Known Universe to have "Countless Force Sensitives" hiding in secret in plain sight amongst the existing populace.

Especially given what we know about "The Empire" & Order 66.

Keeping your "Force Powers" hidden is a matter of survival & a secret Advantage in life.

I am fairly certain they have been cooking up all number of antagonists via the novels and comics as setup for the Rey films. One seems to be a groups that is dead set against the return of the Jedi, in any form. A groups like The Path of the Open Hand, for example, believe the Force should not be used. That using it abuses the Force, and that every action with the Force causes a reaction elsewhere in the Force. Such a group, embedded in the new Galactic Government, would stand in the way of Rey reforming the Jedi Order. Likely siting all the Jedi and Sith as the causes of all the wars the galaxy endured for much of the last century.

Go for it.

Like a Heretics of Dune kind of thing?
Kind of.

I imagine a power that is trying to find Mortis, worshipping it and seeking it as a kind of promised land for their followers. To that end, they search the Galaxy for all Force related artifacts and add any Force sensitive beings to their number.
