Spoilers The Controversial Star Wars Opinion Thread

That is what I expect, yes.

This is the nature of franchises.

Which is bullshit way to treat it. Like it was said before me, it would have been different if Geore himself had done all the cuts himself. Changing names? What's wrong with the name Byss? No, they changed it to Exegol (which sounds like some oil company name that you can't pronounce).

And as was also said before me, Kathleen Kennedy is on a mission to turn everything into the fifth column of feminist ideas. I'm surprised bookies in Vegas ain't taking bets on when she's gonna go one way or the other. Her pet projects are only surviving on international theaters, and it won't be long before even that dries up. Disney is coasting on its vast reservoirs of money, but even that is finite.

Because by doing so, you abandon the original fanbase who enjoyed the pulpy masculinity of Han Solo and his womanizing ways. The whole political-correctness crap bag has gone far enough. Greedo didn't shoot first, Han did, and was fully justified because Greedo raised his pistol to fire. Han just happened to be prepared for the eventuality.

The farther the franchise drifts from those masculine ideals represented in the movie (such as the battle of good and evil, the light versus the dark, using archetypes of Vader and Luke, etc, that George Lucas was very well aware of--see From Star Wars to Jedi), the more it will lose relevance and fade.

The quality suffers as a result: instead of being cued to the ideas behind the plot, such as Leia "redeeming" Han and getting him to quit being a interstellar ladies' man and smuggling dope (yes, ryl spice is dope), all started in that first kiss in the circuit bay of the Millennium Falcon, we are told what to think about the movie through unnecessary dialogue. Therein lies the difference in quality.

STAR WARS had a beautiful run, and reinvented cinema in massive ways. I do not expect it to last forever.

Get the fuck out of here with this "Lucasfilm hates men" bullshit.

Don't misquote me. I didn't say LucasFilm. I said Kathleen Kennedy, nor am I the only one to say it. Not everyone is into it. Kathleen Kennedy is trash, and her and her brand of producing is trash.

Because something is funding it. Disney isn't just forking out all of their own money over these movies. They're being funded by production companies, many of whom have ex-CIA and ex-FBI agents and ex-DoD types sitting on the board. So tired of saying it lately: Wall Street is the CIA, and the CIA is Wall Street. This isn't some big revelation: the CIA has used Disney numerous times to push propaganda.
What a bunch of grade-a conspiracy theory bullshit.

There's an agenda being pushed here, and many of us are not at all comfortable with it.
There isn't one, but if there was, than good.

I don't bother checking the thread for a few days and we get here all of a sudden? I'm not sure why this kind of utter bollocks still surprises me, yet here we are . . .

I only read this page, and don't want to go back further. Who even has time for that nonsense?

I just vote with my wallet and get on with the day.

As any free-thinking adult will do.

It's like the youtube crowd believes in the 'perception is reality' trope to the point that if they keep screaming it from the rooftops, then some morning they'll wake up and it will be true. In the meantime, Disney is apparently fine with KK and her work.

Ah, yes--the "geek" equivalent of The Daily Wire, where Geeks and Gamers, Josiah Rises, Nerdrotic, Critical Drinker, HeelsVsBabyface, Overlord DVD, Ryan Kinel, The Quartering and other channels have spent years guaranteeing their "sources" knew:

1. Kathleen Kennedy would be fired.
2. George Lucas was pissed off with the handling of Disney Star Wars and was coming back to "right the ship"
3. Disney was in "panic mode" because all of their woke propaganda (another way of saying too many n*****s, strong females, subverted White Male Dominance stories, "race swapping", etc.), thus they were "close" to bankruptcy

...and so on and so on.

While the quality of many Disney SW productions have been dodgy or forgettable at best, the problems stem from a lack of creative vision (or quantity over quality), rather than the sickening, sociopolitical boogeyman ranting that fuels the hollow lives of the kind of YouTubers mentioned above.

My favorite part of that scene was that it was Tim Russ who said that line.
And now I'm wanting a scene in Very Short Treks where they ask Tuvok about something they're scanning and that's his answer.
I'm not upset, but I have been watching Disney bleed money at unsustainable rates with flop after flop. So someone over there at the house of mouse had better right the ship, or pretty soon there won't be any more SW, Marvel, DC, etc. Unless they sell those franchises, which would make my decade.
DC is owned by WB, not Disney.

You say that like it's a bad thing, but the original trilogy literally had 3 women with dialogue through all three of the original movies and while things did improve with the prequels it still wasn't great, so adding some "feminism" was the best thing you could do for the franchise. I'm thrilled to the see more girl power getting adding.

Fuck this fucking bullshit.
