The computer voice on next Trek TV series - actor

http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Computer_Voice

With Majel Barrett-Roddenberry deceased which actor will become the computer voice for this next Trek TV series?
I was unable to find the actor's name on imdb who did it for the Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and the Star Trek Beyond (2016) movies.
From a thread started in 2008 and an idea AviTrek brought up in it in 2013:
Who should voice the USS Enterprises computers?

What do you guys think? Use whatever actress that vioced Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and the Star Trek Beyond (2016) movies or get a soundalike voice actor?
Bill Hader did the Vengeance computer voice. Maybe him?

Douglas Rain is apparently still alive, so I say he should be the voice.

Somehow I suspect that he has grown quite tired of people making HAL 9000 references at him. Doing another computer voice would probably be the last thing he'd want to do.

Hell, I'm surprised he even returned for 2010.

I hope they can get Majel's simulated voice. That would be my first choice, so I am glad that it looks like that may be the case.

Too bad Jennifer Lien is bat shit crazy these days, because she would be perfect.

Sooooo, second choice would probably be a Star Trek alum, like Marina Sirtis, Jeri Ryan, Robin Curtis, or maybe Jolene Blalock.

But then again, Gilbert Gotfried, or Stephen Hawking's computer voice would be hilarious!

How did they manage to record Majel's voice?

If it's not all glitchy and weird, I'd love for them to use that.

From what I understand, it isn't exactly recording her voice for this new show. It is basically a computer-generated voice that simulates a similar tone and pitch as Majel's voice with words and sounds strung together, based on recordings she made, including words, as well as her phonetic annunciations (according one article I read, she recorded these). Based on all her on screen appearances, it's easy to compile words. As far as the phonetics, I am assuming that means someone had the foresight that this technology was in development (it has been for some time), and asked Majel to record her phonetic sounds.

The tech has been around for some time. I found this article from 2001.

Forget the voice, I just hope they don't go too canon on the mainframe processor.

..............working....................................

Computer, please calculate the odds on the possibility of a CANON VIOLATION!

....................working..............................uncomputable

BANG :o

Lol. At least she wasn't as bad as the overtly evasive Moonbase Alpha computer.
Koenig: I asked the computer for one name. It gave us 3.

Roger Ebert had his voice analyzed from all of the episodes of TV he made by a tech company and they produced an artificial voice for him to use as a replacement for the more primitive voice synthesizer he had been using. I think he said at the time that the voice was so good it actually startled him when he heard it, but had, by that point, gotten so used to his current voice that he couldn't make the switch over. The technology is good, probably even moreso today. It'll sound great if they go down that route, I'm sure.

The "working" is key. That's how you know the computer has received your command and is in the process of relaying an answer. It's the 23rd century version of a loading screen.

Lance Henriksson would be good, as was mentioned. I think I'd like a male voice this time, similar to not how every AI in Andromeda was a distractingly attractive female. Some were Michael Shanks... lol.

Otherwise, I do enjoy the change over Tony Stark did... when JARVIS became Vision, and now he has a cheeky Scottish gal named FRIDAY. That voice is pretty good for an interactive computer as well.

After thinking about all the alums, starring and recurring, I think that if they can't make Majelbot work, they should pick as the voice of the computer .... Garrett Wang.

(Dodges rocks.)
