The "complete" Fifth Series ...

I think someone at Best Buy may be a little confused. See why

That's their product listing for the upcoming fifth season of Doctor Who.

Dunno how long they'll have the mistake up, but it's funny while it lasts!

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

You HAVE to give them props for making such a wonderful mistake! I mean, someone had to go out there and get that info. I love it! That made my day. Thanks man. :techman:

They're calling it season 5, so presumably it's the cover that's wrong and not the content.

Jamie was The Eleventh doctor's best companion.
I'll never forget that bit in The End of Time where David Tennant's face changed but the character was completely the same. Clearly ripped off from The Mind Robber.

Only where Chibnall and Whithouse wrote him, mind.

I do like the way they list the episodes the set contains (though strangely not all the episodes of the 1967/68 series) - and then in the write-ups below say how they don't exist. I appreciate they've cut and pasted it from somewhere, but didn't they think to read it back first?

This thread is depressing. I want to buy a complete 5th series box set of Troughton episodes. :(

Agreed. I'm especially intrigued by "The Enemy of the World." I saw the one surviving episode on the Lost in Time set but I wish we had more. The only thing better than Patrick Troughton is Patrick Troughton playing 2 roles!

Since it's an American site, it makes sense that they used the American word "season" instead of the British "series." In fact, I'm surprised they haven't amended the American box art to reflect this language difference. They have for many other recent American releases of BBC shows like Robin Hood, The Sarah Jane Adventures, & Torchwood.

Well either they fixed it, or I'm completely missing the joke.

It's for Season Five of the modern era, with Matt Smith. However, in the episode listing and description, they have this:

Ahhh I see it now. At least I do for a few seconds before my browser replaces it all with a bunch of Google links.

Wierd.

They're calling it season 5, so presumably it's the cover that's wrong and not the content.

Not unless there was an incredible find of lost episodes that occurred when no one was looking. Most of the episodes listed here no longer exist. It's a case of someone not familiar with the series not being aware that there are now two "Season 5s".

In some respects, this is evidence in support of the BBC using "Season 31" instead.
