"The Catwalk" Line-by-Line

[Orac]

[Catwalk command area]

Trip: Give me a second. (he and Travis press screens and finally a bunch of unconnected optic cables light up)

[Bridge]

Trip [OC]: Standing by, Captain.
(Archer looks across to Reed and then T'Pol, who touch their boards)

[Catwalk command area]

(as monitors bring up the familiar Bridge displays)
Trip: We're in the driver's seat.

 

[LeadHead]

Bridge

Archer: See you in a few minutes. (To Reed) Let's close up shop.

Lights and consoles turn off all over the ship. T'Pol and Reed leave, Archer looks back at the dark empty bridge before following.

A few minutes later, Archer and T'Pol enter the catwalk command center.

Archer: Done a head count?

 

[Orac]

Trip: Entire crew's accounted for, including one quadruped. Would you like to try out the Captain's chair?

 

[Athena28]

ARCHER: Maybe later. Where's the comm.?

All hands, this is the Captain. This catwalk is going to be our home for a while. A week, maybe more. You may not be comfortable, but you'll be alive. We have the best crew in the fleet and the sturdiest ship. I promise you, we'll get through this.

 

[LeadHead]

T'Pol: One minute, 5 seconds.

 

[Leandar]

Archer: Polarize the hull plating. (Enterprise turns to face the oncoming storm)

 

[LeadHead]

T'Pol: 30 seconds.

 

[Orac]

(the actors start to shake)

Archer: Travis?

 

[LeadHead]

Mayweather: Spatial turbulence.

 

[Orac]

T'Pol: 20 seconds. 15. 10.

 

[LeadHead]

Archer: (into comm) All hands, brace for impact.

The ship shakes as it hits the storm, Porthos hides.

 

[Orac]

Travis: Aft stabilisers aren't engaging.

 

[LeadHead]

Trip: Try them again!

The ride becomes smoother.

 

[Orac]

Travis: Grav-shear's dropping. (Porthos re-emerges) That should be the worst of it, sir, at least for now.

 

[LeadHead]

Later, Archer walks through the catwalk, he stops when he finds a PADD. He picks it up.

Archer: (to a nearby female crewmember) Yours?

She nods.

Archer: Looks like you're almost finished.

 

[Orac]

(Crewwoman takes back her crossword puzzle)

Crewwoman: You wouldn't know who was the first Vulcan ambassador to Earth. Six letters, ends with an R?

 

[LeadHead]

Archer: Solkar, I think.

 

[Orac]

Crewwoman: Thanks, Captain.

 

[Athena28]

ARCHER: Don't mention it.

How're you holding up?

 

[LeadHead]

Hoshi: (cleaning her teeth) Pretty well, sir. A few days in this place should cure anyone of claustrophobia.
