The cardassian union in discovery?

Just watched "The Wire" recently from S2. First time they really nailed Garak and first appearance of Tain. I really loved Garak throughout the series. Dukhat was a little too over the top for me, but I liked how Sisko and Kira performed playing off of him. He helped make their characters more solid, if not his own.

Klingons have been done to death. Of course, they should be in Discovery, but I'd like to see Cardassians, Borg, Andorians, too. Would be nice to see the Denobulans further developed as well.

I didn't say that they weren't done to death, But we know the show is about Klingons, and there's only 13 episodes, which gives them a finite amount of time to tell their story. So unless there's a compelling reason why other alien races need to be focused on, we won't be seeing much of them.

For this season, at least.

Looking over Memory Alpha, it seems they got all their information on Lela Dax from a computer graphic. The novels have ignored all that. According to the graphic, Lela was born in 2112, while the Lela story in The Lives of Dax anthology takes place in the 2060s, with a Vulcan character telling her about the newly discovered human race. Likewise, Tobin is alive in the 22nd century, and both he and Iloja are characters in the current Enterprise novels.

Well on screen canon is canon, so.. The novels got it wrong

I hate the cardassians. I hope that STD limits the amount of human-like aliens to a minimum, we already know that Vulcans and Klingons are in it, I hope that's it.

It's on CBS-AA and to be brutally honest, the CGI Discovery isn't terribly impressive. I highly doubt they have the budget for non-humanoid aliens.

I'm curious to know what re-imagined Cardassians would look like.

Perhaps more reptilian in appearance?

Kor

Considering the budget is $9 million per episode, they have it.

Yeah, I suppose, but Rubber Forehead Aliens are such a Star Trek thing that it's practically expected of them. And the problem of using truly alien aliens in prequel series is that it raises the question of where the hell did they vanish to between the prequel and the rest of the franchisee?
