The Bunny starts dance lessons

Having fun? Always thought the idea of taking some classical dancing classes would be fun, haven't gotten around to doing it, though. The Fiance is pushing to do a little of this before the wedding next fall, though, so going to have to take the plunge here sooner or later.

Used to be pretty good at salsa and merengue, back in high school. That I was dating the hot Spanish exchange student that was teaching the little classes may or may not have been related to that... :)

Me? Never.

Yeah, the studio I go to has wedding lesson packages.

Probably  I don't think they teach merengue here, but they have like 4 salsa 1 classes a week.

ETA: Okay, scratch what I said. They have 1 Merengue class a week.

Hoping you can do the cute eye-fluttering thing and run away (or dance, as the case may be) while I'm distracted? :p

Sorry, no pics as requested, RAMA. I had my hands full learning the steps.

I learned the basic moves for the Argentine Tango this morning in my free introductory lesson. I was originally going to do some Foxtrot, too, but my instructor is the tango instructor and I was doing so well that she spent the time teaching me some advanced stuff (at my request).

I had so much fun! I'm doing the classic beginner mistakes, like having trouble letting someone else lead. And I have trouble keeping my stance where I'm supposed to be. But for only 1 hour's worth, I did really well and I had a ball.

So keep your eyes peeled. In a few months, I want to get the dance down. Then I'm going to work towards performing and competing on the amateur circuit.

I have evolved. And I have a plan.

CD :D :D :D :D

Oh well, just a thought. Glad you can dance...I probably dance like a bunny with a limp.

RAMA

I survived the second week of Rumba. We start over this week for the next month's classes. I'm going to try Swing and Two Step tomorrow.

I love two-step. It's my favorite. I also like paso doble, but that one isn't a social dance, so it's not usually taught.

Two step was really a lot of fun. I think I'm going to pick it up this month.

I hated swing, though. It was as bad as my attempt at Lindy Hop. The swing dances are too fast and too confusing for me. I think I'm going to stick with Latin and Country Western.
