I'm getting the distinct impression that you'll be here to tell us how bad all seven episodes are...
Mandalorian and even Clone Wars proved otherwise.
For you. However, as many have stated, here and other places, the show and character are popular enough to demonstrate that the audience doesn't need to see a character's face. Personal engagement will vary. No, it didn't. One of the show's biggest problems was that the character is barely verbal and doesn't show his face. Made him impossible to really get to know as a character. He's a cipher. He's just an avatar of a "cool badass" without any true depth or personality (beyond his relationship with Grogu.) For much (but not all) of the show, it was a huge problem.

Samurai Jack comes to mind as an example of an engaging show in which the protagonist never says a single word.
Yes, I edited my post on further thought. That must have crossed streams with your reply.Phil LaMarr would disagree with "never." Although it's true that Jack was a man of few words, and there were lengthy sequences where no one had any dialogue.
Did the protagonist ever actually say anything at all? My memory is a bit fuzzy on this now.
If only all eleven live-action Star Wars films could say that.
What's the point of arguing with unsophisticated rubes?
No.The Holiday Special and two Ewok TV movies don't count?
Way to save the only redeeming part of that special. Not in canon, though Ackmena the bartender played by Bea Arthur is now canon thanks to a Disney Era book.
