The Best Smegging Red Dwarf thread

I've always thought the show suffered (and continues to suffer to a lesser extent) with the departure of Grant.

^"No officer with false teeth should attempt oral sex in zero gravity"?

Yeah, I always forget that one. ;)

My favorite Space Corps Directive: 196156. "Any officer caught sniffing the saddle of the exercise bicycle in the women's gym will be discharged without trial."

Hey Corpse, it's been driving me crazy for months. Who is that in your AV?

Dr. Lauren Lewis from the Canadian fantasy TV series Lost Girl.. The photo is from the season 4 ep "Origin." My "location" is also a reference to her in that same episode. It's a fun show about a succubus and her spunky human friend who work as paranormal private detectives. You should check it out, although it can be a bit sexually risqué. (A succubus is like a vampire that feeds off of sexual energy.)

Best quote from that episode:

You are a stupid, square-headed, bald git, aren't you? I'm pointing at you, but I'm not actually addressing you, I'm addressing the one prat in the country who's bothered to get hold of this recording, turn it round, and actually work out the rubbish that I'm saying. What a poor, sad life he's got! Anyhow your acts crap anybody coulda done it bollocks to you

...I was compelled by voices to de-code this about 2 hours after it first aired.

Am I the only one who preferred SVII to SVIII?

I also liked that there was no studio audience too - and whilst there are cuts of it with a laughter track added, I think it plays out better without.

I know it felt like a different show to previously, but SIII -VI seemed like a different show to I and II.

^ Today, I am happy. Not so much on September 22 since I don't think any US channel will be carrying this, plus I dumped Dish anyway.

Hopefully the blu-rays will be out before x-mas.

I remember watching Series X somewhere online a week or so after the original airings, but the quality was poor.

I wonder if how many occasions of this old android saying we'll see

001100111011000111100

Which of course means don't stand around jabbering when you're in mortal danger

Having already seen 'Samsara', the second episode of the new series I can confirm it's going to be good. If you liked series X, you'll love XI.

Personally I've loved all of Red Dwarf and while Series VII and BTE weren't Red Dwarf at their best, I'd still watch any of them (even 'Meltdown') over and over again.

The cast is so great and comfortable in their roles that it's just great to see them together again. Stick Lister and RImmer in a room together and I'm happy to watch it.
