While we're waiting for CoveTom, I'd just like to mention that I've always hated this line:

It sucks all the drama out of the scene. After what Picard had just been through, he should have just said, "Everything." Period. End of scene. We feel his pain.

But no, he's feeling chatty enough to blow some smoke up Riker's rear end, forget about what the Borg just used him to accomplish, with him a powerless observer of the massacre. [/soapbox]

    :)

^I'd agree that it does removed the drama from that scene, but I think the following scene makes up for it. When Riker leaves, Picard is obviously not normal and back to his old self yet.

Picard also would not want to show weakness in front of subordinates if at all possible.

Yeah, but it's not like it happened out in Ten Forward or a shuttlebay where a bunch of JG's and enlisted crew were - it was a private moment in Data's lab. The only ones there at that moment were Riker, Data, Crusher, Troi and O'Brien. Aside from O'Brien, the rest were all part of the "inner circle" and wouldn't blab to anyone about it anyway. And even if they did, the only ones left they would tell are Geordi and Worf, and they're part of the core, too.

    Wow! Awesome job, everyone!

As before, I compiled a list of everyone who participated in this thread and then numbered the list.

Here's what I came up with:

    1. CoveTom
    2. Vulcan princess
    3. brian
    4. LeadHead
    5. Vanyel
    6. Ziz
    7. leandar
    8. JanewayRulz!
    9. Soverign_One
    10. BlastHardcheese
    11. ssosmcin

Those names should be in the order in which each person first posted to the thread. No "weight" is given for who posted more or less often.

(If I inadvertently left anyone off the list of participants, please let me know and I'll try to make it up on the next go-around.)

I then used a random number generator -- www.random.org, to be specific -- and had it pick a number between 1 and 11. This is completely and totally random. There is no favoritism of any kind shown.

    And the winner is...

    *drumroll*

    LeadHead!

    Congratulations, LeadHead!

So, LeadHead, the next move is yours. Would you like to select the next episode we are going to do line-by-line? You are free to select the next episode or pass and I will re-run the randomization. You can pick any episode from any of the Trek series that you like. For reference, the ones we've done so far, ordered by series, are:

Where No Man Has Gone Before (TOS)
    The Man Trap (TOS)
    The Menagerie (TOS)
    Measure of a Man (TNG)
    Yesterday's Enterprise (TNG)
    Peak Performance (TNG)
    The First Duty (TNG)
The Best of Both Worlds (TNG)
    The Visitor (DS9)
    Trials and Tribble-ations (DS9)
    Bride of Chaotica (VOY)
    Dark Frontier (VOY)
    Scorpion (VOY)
    Counterpoint (VOY)

Once a new episode has been chosen, I will fire up the next line-by-line thread in the appropriate forum and post the link here.

Yay! I'll be honest, the one I had always wanted for us to do here was Best of Both Worlds, so now onto the second one I wanted to do.

    The Way Of The Warrior.

Good choice. Hope to replay "The LeadHead Vanyel Show" again. I think it needs a catchy theme song.

^I agree, I think it was good that we were able to do an episode at Quantum Slipstream Velocity, but we don't need to do em that way every time. I was feeling bad that people were trying to jump in and they'd be behind, just trying to catch up. (I really hope that oens't sound arrogant or condescending) I'm game for whatever, The 100 Line dash or the nice n'easy.

The problem with the marathon postings is that some of us have lives and can't sit logged in for 18 continuous hours clicking the "Refresh" icon so fast that our finger develops its own gravitational field.
