The best episode of Voyager - Part Seven

Okay Trek fans, this game was successful on the TNG and DS9 boards, and I hope it prospers here as well. Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you play again. Not a very accurate way of determining the best episode, but a fun game nonetheless. Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

Season One - State of Flux
Season Two - Projections
Season Three - Before and After
Season Four - Prey

Friendship One - for such wasted potential. They had it narrowed down to three recurring characters who would be the one killed off in this episode - Joe Carey, Vorik and Samantha Wildman. Personally, I would have killed off Samantha. Since we'd spent so much time with Naomi, her death would be more moving than the others. And without a parent around, who would take care of Naomi? I would think it would fall to Neelix. But with him leaving the ship in just a few episodes, that would leave the next closest friend Naomi had on the ship - Seven. Just imagine how much character development that would have been (even at the end of the series, for Seven to be a new mother just when they return to the Alpha Quadrant. But instead, they brought back someone we had only seen once since Season One to be killed! Seriously, when I first saw the episode, I didn't remember who he was! :brickwall:

Okay, I'm done ranting now.

I'm going to go ahead and remove Unimatrix Zero (II). I thought that this concept did not at all fit with the idea of the Borg... It really didn't make sense to me. Both parts (I & II) felt cheesy, forced, and just didn't fit with the parameters I felt had been established for the characters or the Borg.

At one point, close to the beginning of when she was first brought on Voyager, Seven states that "deception among the Borg was not possible," or something along those lines. And the Unimatrix concept flies directly into the face of that statement and contradicts it completely.

"Nightingale." They sent Seven along to help Harry with his first command. And she gave him advice--from her vast command experience, I suppose. Really?

Bye, bye Lineage. The dullest episode of S7 barely had a plot at all.

I'm getting rid of Flesh and Blood. They have the Doc acting completely out of character, and can't even give him a plausible way to get to that point.

"Renaissance Man" is a goner. I guess everyone else in the cast was so impressed with Jeri's performance as the doctor they all wanted to join in. Plus, if the captain is in such desperate danger, why doesn't she have a hair out of place? Just a dumb episode. Ugh.

Taking out Human Error, if I wanted to watch Beltran be all lovey dovey with someone I'd prefer to watch Unforgettable, at least that episode doesn't make me gag.

Dang, that's my favourite of the season. Gone too soon once again...

Taking out Shattered - considering the high concept and winks back to past episodes, it should have been a lot more fun than it was. Instead it was strangely lacking energy and just didn't make a whole lot of cohesive sense. Felt like a collection of scenes rather than an episode.

Taken away Inside Man. It's the most pointless of the Pathfinder episodes, with stupid Ferengi to boot. There was no need for Troi in this silly episode whatsoever.

Can't believe Lineage and Flesh and Blood are gone already. :(

"Imperfection" is gone. I just think, after four years, that Seven could tear up with the Borg kids' departure and it wouldn't be a "malfunction."

I love The Void too. :klingon:

I've removed Endgame for crimes against proper show endings, and overuse of time travel.

Heh, unexpected. Endgame is pretty much everything that makes Voyager Voyager, for better or worse, I'd expected it to last longer.

As for me? Goodbye Body and Soul, you were naught but an excuse to render Seven exaggeratedly out of character. The mildly interesting Tuvok B-plot can't save you.

Out goes Prophecy. Klingons in the DQ. Not buying it.
