The best episode of TNG - Part Five

Okay Trek fans, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations before you eliminate another one. Not a very accurate way of determining the best episode, but a fun game nonetheless. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

Eliminated: "Redemption II." It's a disappointing conclusion to the cliffhanger with an ending that is all too pat. The series had been setting up the Romulan/Klingon arc for a few episodes in the previous season, but it's all wrapped up rather quickly here. Also, some of the visual effects with Kurn's ship are abysmal.

I'll pull Imaginary Friend, before it gets a chance to go any further. It was bound to get the cut very early on, and for good reason. It's one of the only TNG episodes that grates my teeth when I watch it

A lot of good stuff this season. I removed Cause and Effect because in the end, it was just seeing the same scene a bunch of times from different angles.

I'm going to take out New Ground, because every time I see that episode title, it's so forgettable, that it takes me a few minutes to remember just WTF it's about. Then I remember it's an Alexander episode, which means that being forgettable is its best quality

Removed: Unification, 1 and 2 (does a two-parter in the same season count as removing one episode? If I'm not allowed to do this, I'll just delete part one, but I'm deleting both parts.
Reason Why?: This episode SUCKS! I HATE IT! My mom once got me this episode for my birthday, and I HATED IT WITH A PASSION! I'm sorry, everything about this episode BLOWS

Ideally, you're only allowed to remove one episode at a time. However, I don't see the point in me restoring Part II since given your hatred of it, I'm sure you'll remove it in a future opportunity. Let's just say you've played twice, and can't post again until at least four other posters have. ;)

Anyway, I'm going to cut Hero Worship. Damn that annoying kid...

Removed: The Perfect Mate
Reason: It's such a dull and unlikeable episode that I'm amazed it made it this far to be honest.

Removed: "Ethics," for the re-set of the ending, which is a total cheat allowing the writers to tell this story with a regular character and allow him to live in the end. Actually, it's not much different than the equally annoying cheat with Spock and his magical eye-lids in "Operation: Annihilate!"

Removed Cost of Living. I hate all Lwaxana episodes with passion!

Disaster
The Game
A Matter of Time
Violations
Conundrum
Power Play
The First Duty

The Next Phase

Removing The Outcast - Probably one of the more forgettable episodes of the series, which is unfortunate because the subject matter could have gone a whole lot deeper.

Darmok
Ensign Ro
Silicon Avatar
Disaster
The Game
Violations
Conundrum
Power Play
The First Duty
I, Borg
The Next Phase
The Inner Light
Time's Arrow (I)

Taking out A Matter of Time - I think it was trying to be funny and just not quite pulling it off.

Darmok
Ensign Ro
Silicon Avatar
Disaster
Violations
Conundrum
Power Play
The First Duty
I, Borg
The Next Phase
The Inner Light
Time's Arrow (I)

Took out "The Game". I loved that episode as a kid, but its kind of a dumb episode seeing it as an adult.

Darmok
Ensign Ro
Silicon Avatar
Disaster
Conundrum
Power Play
The First Duty
I, Borg
The Next Phase
The Inner Light
Time's Arrow (I)

Well, now that some of the riffraff is dispensed with, it's time for Violations to get the axe. A bit plodding, uninteresting, and forced, with rather dull performances from most everyone

Darmok
Ensign Ro
Silicon Avatar
Disaster
Conundrum
Power Play
The First Duty
I, Borg
The Next Phase
The Inner Light

By Time's arrow you sucked, beside some nice period sets and costumes, this episode is lame.

I shall remove Darmok. I don't really hate it, but that "They can only talk in metaphor" thing always gets me. So how could one of those guys say, "The warp containment field is down to 23%!"

Ensign Ro
Silicon Avatar
Disaster
Conundrum
Power Play
The First Duty
I, Borg
The Next Phase
The Inner Light

Ensign Ro

I guess Power Play is the next to go. Its an exciting episode, but nothing special.

Ensign Ro
Silicon Avatar
Conundrum
The First Duty
I, Borg
The Next Phase
The Inner Light

Removing Disaster. Troi on the bridge commanding seemed wrong and the kids with Picard could get kind of annoying. Not a bad episode though but of the remaining ones, the weakest.
