The best episode of DS9 - Part Three

BlueStuff

Rear Admiral

Okay Trek fans, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you play again. Not a very accurate way of determining the best episode, but a fun game nonetheless. Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

I'm glad I got here first, so I could have the honour of removing Meridian. Hate that episode. Least favourite of the whole series.

Had to be said. ;)

And I'm glad I get to remove Life Support. Sacrificing yourself is good and well - but in this case it was done to get rid of one of my favourite guest stars. And that was a no go.

And Bashir practically replacing Bareil's brain with cybernetics just so that some stupid negotiations could be finalized... sorry, but that totally went against my understanding of a doctor's ethics.

Bye-bye Facets. I don't care for Jadzia stories. It's also interesting that since Curzon was in love with her, it now means that she's essentially romantically in love with herself with those memories restored. :brickwall:

I'll take out Heart of Stone - there are some decent moments but the set-up is just too contrived.

'Fascination'

Seriously, it lasted this long? The one where everybody is in love with everybody else just 'cause Lwaxana walked by 'em?

Peldar Joy, My Ass!

How did Emissary beat Duet?!

Oh well, serves me right for missing the game altogether... :( It's confusing with so many Best episode games around!

But this is really the "least hated episode" rather than "Best episode" game, isn't it?

I wanted to be the one to take out Fascination, but thank you anyway - it really should have been gone earlier...

I take out Family Business. Really not a fan of Ferengi episodes, especially when they involve wacky family comedy. The only Ferengi episodes I like are Little Green Men and The Magnificent Ferengi, and in both they have someone else to play against (1950s humans, the Vorta). (The House of Quark is a Quark/Klingon episode, not a Ferengi episode.) The Ferengis are always the best when playing off other characters, when the show focuses too much on them alone, the results are poor and not that funny.

Equilibrium goes bye-bye. I'm not a fan of how the Defiant, this new warship unlike anything we've seen from the Federation before, is used as a passenger transport. It felt lame. Plus, the rest of the episode is a little dull.

How did Emissary beat Duet?!
Because this moment was just too awesome, apparently.

Goodbye Prophet Motive. I agree with what was said earlier; Ferengi are best if they play off other characters, pure Ferengi episodes never appealed to me.

Farewell "Distant Voices". I really don't like this one. It's got a lot of Garak, which is a plus, but the episode falls apart as it goes on and is completely inconsequential.

I eliminated "Shakaar". While it is a good episode and I like the Bajorans, it seems a little odd that there was no resistance to Kai Winn running the show before Kira got involved.

Keep in mind that Winn even had Kira's support at one time...

Destiny - Because it's the only one I had to go look up in order to remember which story it was. Not memorable enough for me to have both the A & B stories committed to memory = open for elimination.

Eliminating "Civil Defense." It's a good episode, but not quite up to the level of the rest remaining.

Defiant is gone b/c its fairly predictable and a Riker clone is at the helm of SF's most feared ship....Fail. Also, the ship graphics in the Cardiassian Command Center (CCC) look like something much worse than 1985's Super Mario Brothers....geez

List fixed to accommodate two posters playing at the same time.

As for myself, "Second Skin" is gone. Enjoyable, but to me it's fairly average compared to the other titles here, which range from great to exceptional. Also I frequently mistake it for the similarly titled "Second Sight". Making me think of that bad episode is a punishable offense.
