The Best and Worse of Ten

Since not only, our year and decade are drawing to a close, but Doctor number 10's time as well, let us reflect and pick our best and worse David Tennant moments. You can use youtube links if there is a particuar scene you want to point out.

I will start out. One of my favorites is the Doctor vs. the Sycorax in the Christmas Invasion. We just lost Doctor #9 and we have a new Doctor that has been mostly unconcious the whole episode, he awakes and now we finally see how Tennant will be as the Doctor...

Without too much thought I'm gonna go with the oft quoted absent minded doc and his wibbly wobbly timey wimey detector for highlight. For lowlights I'd go with any of the messiah super docs that come out to play during the season finale and christmas specials. Looking back I'd say the sycorax was the best one with Next doctor coming next (ruined only by doctor and his giant magic gun fighting super Cyberman)

There's a ton of great moments to choose from, but for me the two that REALLY stand out are:

Him being all badass at the end of "Family of Blood", and

In "Midnight" when everyone starts to turn on him and he realizes that his usual wit and charm are no longer working.

As for the worst, I guess it would be everything in "Daleks in Manhattan" (although that probably had more to do with the writing than anything Tennant did).

best: 'hopping for your life', Midnight, drowning the baby Racnoss, mime-talking with Donna

worst Deus Ex TenDoc in VOTD

Best: "I'm the Doctor. I'm a Time Lord. I'm from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. I'm 903 years old, and I'm the man who's gonna save your lives and all six billion people on the planet below. You got a problem with that?"

Worst: promptly fails to save any of them :D

As far as best goes, there are truly too many to pick a favorite. From the Blink Easter Egg to the last act of Waters of Mars, Tennant has gone from strength to strength.

I suppose if I had to pick a "worst" it would probably be him carrying the Olympic torch in Fear Her. It just pushed suspension of disbelief a little too far (plus it used up a potentially timely plot that could have been given to the Eleventh Doctor when 2012 really rolls around).

Funnily enough I think my favourite bit is David Tennant when he's not the Doctor. I think that scene at the end of the Family of Blood where he realises he has to open the watch to save everyone is utterly brilliant, and proves to anyone who needs it proving that DT is a damn fine actor.

Low points...the giggling schoolgirl act with Rose, the Olympic torch, any excessive gurning!

I disliked any time he acted like an intergalactic Timmy Mallet which unfortunately was more often than not.

I'd like to think the Moffat would retcon the Doctor at the Olympics out of existence.

Sure the 11th Doctor could do the Olympics thing. How many Doctors have been on the Titanic? Or sunk Atlantis?

This is Doctor Who after all. Continuity schmontinuity.
