Oh, and Botham can go and fuck himself. Anyone with a scintilla of intelligence - which explains his asinine remark, as he doesn't even have that much - could see that Philip Hughes didn't claim that catch. Arsehole.![]()
Particularly bad timing after Bell's efforts with the DRS later in the day. Let's give Bell the benefit of the doubt and say he was 'exploiting the system to his full advantage' rather than 'cheating'.
Only one issue with the Hughes incident - why did he throw it in the air in celebration? A 22 year old kid in the heat of the moment under pressure can be forgiven I suppose.
Well, it's now official. Paul Collingwood's bowing out of test cricket after this match. Admittedly he was very disappointing this series, but over the years he has served England well in general. He's doing the right thing, I think.
I remember when he got plucked out of our local grade cricket on the 2003 tour to play for England. I was living in Melbourne at the time, and the crowds loved him because of his surname. I remember thinking he looked like an inoffensive journeyman who would last three games at the top level.
I reckon he's just as surprised as anyone that he played for a decade, won the Ashes three times and captained England to short form success. Grit, guts and pride in bucketfuls. Well played, 'MBE'.
India should win this test now if Kallis goes cheaply.
If. He made 109 last night, playing in agony with a side strain that had him taking regular needles from the medical staff, negotiating Harbhajan who had it spitting like a cobra. Two centuries for the match. Could be his crowning glory if the South Africans win this.
Let's hope the Aussie bats show a tenth of his skill, courage and determinaton today.
