The Animals That Aren't Dogs or Cats Thread

OK, there's something that's been bugging me after my last post. Was I an asshole for just walking away without saying anything else, after the girl said they weren't her horses.

From Bored Panda-- the face of a 100 year old turtle:

Does it shake a cane very slowly? :D

No. It sounds like a weird moment and she wasn’t sure why you were talking to her.

OK, thanks. Those are the kinds of situations where my social anxiety makes things hard for me.
I still might try again if I see the other blond I've seen with the horses.

If she's nice I figured I'd explain that I take a break there on my bikes rides, and the horses come up to the fence a lot of the time when they see me, but I didn't want to go up and pet them without getting permission.
Exactly, you should be direct when approaching a woman who doesn’t know you. I am always open minded about a guy asking me about my dogs because I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but some women immediately take it the wrong way.

Monkeying around! Astonishing moment two 'naked' chimpanzees suffering from alopecia start mass brawl in zoo enclosure

so apparently alopecia is a disease about loss of hair,.. I did not know that and when I saw chimpanzees without hair I thought they were evolving into a kind of human hairless type of animal?? but no they have alopecia. I guess that is ok =--= as long as this is not a thing or something.

I've known about alopecia in humans for a while, but I had no idea chimps could get it.
And by chimp standards that wasn't much of a fight. Chimps are fucking brutal, and are by far the most violent of the great apes, which I actually find kind of ironic since they are also the closes to us. I think that says a lot about us.

I first heard about this a few weeks ago, and I've been meaning to post about it here.
Back last year in Derbyshire, England, a 23 year old model and horseback rider named Gracie Spinks was murdered by her stalker while she was out in a field by taking care of her horse.
The saddest part is that she had complained about him to the police, and they even found a bag of weapons near where she would later be killed, and they didn't do anything.
She was really into horseback riding, if you look through the news stories and things like that, she's with her horse in almost every picture, and they even had her horse at her funeral.
This incident has led her parents to petition for a new Gracie's Law, which would try get advocates for stalking victims, and help the police investigate the cases more thoroughly.

No. It sounds like she wasn't interested in being friendly.

I heard about this too. UK police have been terrible about this kind of thing.
