I Think "This isn't Your Father's Star Trek"

And "Finally a Star Trek for everyone"

pretty much qualifies.
Qualifies as...?

I've seen both terms mentioned, and neither one indicates "hate" for old skool/long time fans.

Complete the sentence.. Not You Father's Trek...which was silly and stupid...

And Finally a Star Trek for everyone...not just nerds....
Well, if you're determined enough, it's possible to read an insult into practically anything. The question is: why would you want to? Why go looking to be offended?

Those slogans and others used in the unprecedentedly huge ad campaign promoting the film are aimed at getting the attention of audiences which either have never watched Trek at all or haven't watched it for years. They're just pieces of advertising, each tailored to reach a particular demographic, and I certainly don't view any of them as being in any way a slap at me, personally, or at any longtime Trek fans.

Enterprise was a show meant to give Trekkies more backgrounds and an origins story of sorts for their favorite universe.

"Enterprise" was intended to do two things at once, and failed altogether at one while being unsatisfactory with regard to the other. The attempt to "give Trekkies something" was unsatisfactory. The attempt to spruce Trek up, "modernize it" and pitch it to a younger demo - which was what UPN was most interested in - was incompetently executed and failed completely.

If I were the type of person to nitpick over every piece of Trek canon and freak out because Finnegan or Mitchell aren't in this movie, then I suppose the ad campaign would be another think to be a drama queen about. But I'm not.
