The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Generally, how hard is it to get the SDCC Star Wars Black Series figures? They're supposed to have a Jaina Solo figure because she won the fan poll last year and I really want it.

Weren't figures of Rey hard to get at one point in time as well?

I know it took me forever to get one solitary figure of Rey, as there was more figures of Finn and Poe

Here's my first full comic since last Easter. Mario and Luigi are having a bit of a pizza panic this time around.

Thanks! the two platform looking items I used was used to hold small tubes of tooth paste. I'm not sure how easy it will be for you to get them. My mom works at a small grocery store so it's easier for her to get me these things.
Great work on your custom Jim Gordon figures. I haven't watched Gotham yet but they look spectacular. :)
Thank you! It was really just a headswap, simplest custom ever.

I didn't mean to do the exact same thing like you, but for a while now I have been collecting the plastic inside of chocolate boxes if they had an interesting surface. But your post inspired me to look beyond that, for actual plastic boxes with interesting surfaces. But I am working on something, and I hope it will be good!

NECA asked on Twitter to put your figures into the snow. I did and only realized afterwards that I had mixed it up, as these table museum statues are done by Figma and I actually don't (yet) own any NECA ones. With so many others like QMX and Mezco etc. it can get confusing LOL So anyway, here's my David in the snow. Thanks to my friend he was at least warm.

I haven't yet properly introduced Figma David. He's very flexible. Even his hair moves! And the toes. And he comes with a second face where you even can move the eyeballs with a stick. When I did that, one popped out and rolled over the floor. I was afraid I never would find it again but I did. An experience I'd rather not repeat!

Still good none the less. I'd like to try some customizing like that too. Oh and I don't mind. I was inspired by a diorama maker on DeviantArt. http://skphile.deviantart.com/ :) Any type of packaging will work. And now that you mention it I recall having some chocolate boxes with cool surfaces. I wish I had saved them now. When I'm not working on miniatures, I'm usually taking broken stuff apart and I usually find great pieces to use for my scenes.

Cool pictures of that Statue of David figure. I like the idea of that too. Taking real life art and turning them into miniature figures. Sadly we didn't have much snow so I wasn't able to do anything snow related. I'd be scared about those eyes too. I have some figures that came with beer bottles and very tiny bottle caps probably around the same size. So I keep them safe in a small container so they don't get lost. It's nerve wracking.

I recently got this fire escape wall shelf from Hobby Lobby and it's amazing for posing figures on. It's 22 inches high, 20 inches wide and 6 inches thick so there is a lot of room for various figures to stand at.

Some cool Transformers stuff from the latest Toy Fair. Trypticon looks really nice, and it seems like we'll get a Twin Twist alongside Topspin. There's a new mold of Laser Optimus Prime which is also remolded as Octane, and I like the latter better. Blitzwing's new version might be good, and I'm not sure about its retool as Megatron.

Not so keen on Nautica, in the sense that I wish they'd done more with Blurr's mold than just give her a new head and stick on extra fins. If they can turn Scourge's TM mold into a very nice G1 style Highbrow, and then turn that into a credible TM Windblade, why not do more with Nautica? The oddly colored version of Triggerhappy is a new version of Metalhawk, but I admit I'm not overly interested in him.

I haven't purchased a Transformer in years. The last two I bought were a leader class Bumblebee and an Optimus Prime based on Revenge Of The Fallen. I had a blue Nightwatch Optimus Prime and leader class Starscream but that's about it.

Thee ones Hasbro make feel cheap and nasty now.

I'd consider getting that alternate version of Astrotrain called Chigurh but it's nearly 300 dollars and I haven't heard much about the quality of the build.

That fire escape looks really good! I saw the link when it was posted and checked it out but it's quite huge. Perfect if you have an extra toyroom but not for me. I just wanted to post the link in here though and it seems as if it is not available anymore? If so, good haul!

I also have a good haul! I got the "Deranged Alley" set from Extreme Sets. Check out here what else is available: http://extreme-sets.com/
There's also spaceships, a subway station, a haunted house...

I just set up a quick scene to try it out.

It can be combined in many ways:

Yeah it is a bit too large. Making it somewhat difficult to get good pics but I'll figure it out. And it was the only one my store had so I was pretty lucky to find it. :)

That Deranged Alley is amazing. It's nice to finally see them in action! They look fantastic. I need to save up and get me some of those. I love the Alley, Sewer, Subway and Haunted house the most.
