The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Both scales of the Walmart-exclusive Black Series Scarif Stormtrooper (3.75" and 6") are insanely hard to find in my area. Walmart has become dreadful at carrying a lot of their exclusive Hasbro Star Wars products and I don't know why they lobby to get these exclusive figures if a lot of the stores will barely acknowledge their existence and then not even bother to stock them for customers. For the biggest and most successful retail chain on the planet they sure are clueless about some of their own products.

I've found that dollhouse furniture which is usually in 1:12 like chairs and tables work better with my 5" Doctor Who and Torchwood figures than with the bigger 6"-7" ones. They're too big to properly sit on. This is why I was so happy to find all those Wrestling figures accessories, as they are also bigger.

But once I have Bruce Wayne I'll set up a proper manor scene with all the stuff I have. Book shelves, chess set... It'll be awesome!

I saw Bruce, Barbara, and Zsasz at TRU today, all with sidewalk sections.

Yes, these are the cheaper variants for people who don't care for the backgrounds and just want the figures. I read that people buy Gordon a lot to use him as base body for any other guy in suit.

My MEGO Enterprise Bridge Playset customized to (the-end-of-STIV-Enterprise-A)
I wish that bridge refit, with its bright Okudagrams, had received more screen time.
Very nice! Looks really great!

My thought exactly when I first saw him. He would make a great James Bond figure.
I can highly recommend him! I posted some detailed pictures a couple of pages back. So many joints and possible poses. The Stargate figures that I got ten years ago from the same company were rather stiff in comparison to that!

I have the TMP punch out book bridge. The figures with it are 2 3/4" tall. Simple math to enlarge the whole thing. Just never had the money to get it done right.

I just completed a custom built Enterprise-D Bridge set (Generations variant) scaled to the playmates action figures:

I have to tweak a few things here and there, but I think it turned out quite nicely

It was a mistake to make the bridge as a playset, they should have made the Holodeck, as I repeatedly suggested to them, much more play potential.

That is completely fantastic, really brilliant work!

Such a shame that Playmates didn't give the figures legs (hips), so that they could sit down properly!

That 1701-D bridge is amazing. I'm sitting here in awe at your talented handiwork! I wish the toy companies would make more playsets like this, especially for Star Wars figures which haven't had a really good 3.75"-scale playset environment in years, not since the release of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Bingo. They'd be so obsessed with squeezing every extra cent of profit margin out of the playsets they wouldn't bother to greenlight them for mass production. Screw kids and collectors. The shareholders are what matter!

My current "Gotham" obsession and particular fascination with Sean Pertwee as Alfred has led me to start my first customized figure in this fandom now. The Alfred Pennyworth figure comes in full suit but I want to make him in just his vest and with rolled up sleeves, as I love that look.

Taking off the jacket was easy, as it is made extra from gum.

Then I cut down the shirt and jacket sleeves, which will become the naked arms. You have to be careful because the peg in the wrist needs still to work.

With Milliput I added the rolled up sleeves and also the strap and buckle of the vest at the back, which leaves some creases. And I filled some of the wrinkles of the forearms. Tomorrow I'm going to paint him.

Done! Alfred's finished! But I guess I need to sand down the forearms a bit more, they look quite lumpy as the original shirt sleeves creases are still visible. Thing is, I can't make them too narrow as the joints for wrists and elbows need enough "meat" to not brea.

The rolled up sleeves and also the backside of the vest with creases and buckle were done with Milliput:

I also gave him his salt & pepper hair and eyebrows:
