The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

For those of you who are unaware of my hobbies, one of them is to collect STAR WARS and STAR TREK action figures and other toys and has been for many years now. When I was a litte kid I collected most of the original STAR WARS action figures made by Kenner between 1978 and 1985 and still own them, and I started collecting the new Kenner/Hasbro figures starting in 1998. Over the past 13 or 14 years I've probably acquired well over 2,000 action figures of different sizes and from different lines. I've posted quite a few pics of my collection in the "Picture Post" thread in recent months and also have a Photobucket account full of snapshots of my stuff. In addition to all my STAR WARS stuff I also own a much, much smaller but nonetheless quality collection of STAR TREK figures, dolls and plastic and die-cast ships dating back to some of the classic Mego (TOS) dolls of the '70s and the 3-3/4" line of action figures from THE MOTION PICTURE that were in stores in 1979 and 1980.

Does anyone else here collect action figures, toys, dolls, etc.? Feel free to discuss your hobby and post pictures of your stashes...I'd love to see what you guys and gals like to collect! Let's get this ball rolling! :techman:
Now that's a post for me. I collect a lot of action figures. From marvel legends over mcfarlane toys dc and spawn to turtles and master of the universe as also black series and tons of others.
But i haven't found a really good looking line to collect a star trek crew. The super 7 line started out well but dropped it after making only a very few. Mcfarlane toys also an awesome Kirk and Picard figure but dropped it after those 2. Is there another line that's really good and has more than 5 characters? And also ship modells... i'l love to get at least an Enterprise D and an og show one as a cool not to small modell to put up. But wich one? They are all so small... i live in europe and my selection is very limited. But i bet in the USA are way more choices Aviable. Any tipps what company's product i should look for?

Can we post pictures of our collections in here somehow? Or can we exchange pics in another way? I'm also an Action Figure cusomizer and have an account on Insta for my customs.

Yes! Please. ☺️👍
Ok let me rephrase. How do i post pictures in here for u guys to see? I looked in the write comment section. But i'm not shure how to add a picture. I got a huge gallerie room with over 1000 figures in it. Not all put up yet since i moved into a new house a year ago and haven't replaced all shelfs i need yet. Plus i put up a lot of new stuff. Like i got an immense Batman collection with Figures of different suits. Villain shelfs. Batmobiles from all movies and several comics. Not only Mcfarlane toys but also a lot from the older DCUC line. And much more. X-men. Spider-man.
If u wanna see my customs u can find me on insta as ''x-raycustoms''.

For you, 'cause you're Premium. Lobo will have to host them elsewhere and post the links.
How u mean that ''host them elsewhere and post links'' bcs. There is no real link. It's just photos i made with my phone. I didn't really posted them much anywhere. Bcs my insta is mainly for the customs.

For example, you put the pictures up on Imgur and post the links to them here. Imgur is a tricky one at the moment because people in the UK can't see images on there, but it's also arguably the easiest option. Others may have good hosting site suggestions.

Hi @Lobo , and welcome to the board!

As @Tosk mentioned, the way to do that is first to upload them to an image hosting site, then use the link from the image hosting site to show the images here. @Tosk mentioned Imgur, but I should just point out that, because of the issues currently with Imgur in the UK, our official board position is that Imgur is "discouraged". It's not against the rules to use it, but if you have the ability to use literally any other image hosting service, that would be our preference. For example, I use PostImages, which is both simple to use, and offers a pretty robust free account tier.

Once your image is uploaded to the hosting service, you copy the link from there, and then just use the "insert image" icon in the edit box to insert the link/image into your post:

insert-image.png

Or, alternatively, you can just use the UBB IMG tags directly:

Code:
[img]https://i.postimg.cc/gkHQP6rh/insert-image.png[/img]

Alternatively, as @Candleicious Ghost mentioned, you can become a premium member, and then you get the ability to upload images directly to the board. Premium membership is US$25 per year, and comes with other perks such as the ability to use animated avatars, and the removal of ads. You can see more details here.

I hope this is helpful!
