I picked up the new CW version of Sky Lynx today, and the results are... mixed. My biggest frustration was noticing that his rear legs, particularly the left rear leg, seem to have a weird bend that they shouldn't have. They should be perpendicular to the sort of U-shaped piece they connect to (this forms the chest of his new combined form, Sky Reign, with his engines forming the chest) so that they align with the front legs, but they're curved in a bit. This doesn't seem to affect his transformation, but it's kind of annoying. The only cause I can think of, and I welcome fixing suggestions on, is that Sky Lynx is packaged in this mode and is secured with those little plastic things. The two pairs of legs work a bit differently and have different designs, so it's possible his rear legs somehow got compressed in packaging.
The overall figure isn't bad, but it could be better. The joints are looser than is ideal, and I'm not fond of the rear legs sticking out in shuttle mode as they do. It's possible to sort of make a lynx mode for the CW by rotating the legs around at the knees and flip out the Sky Reign head, which is modeled after the original lynx component. His shuttle head can become a weird sort of tail, but the leg curve is unfortunately a lot more noticeable.
There is a huge vehicle coming for the Fall. Right now, it's loosely described (in code perhaps) as a 3.75" Star Wars Signature Set and will retail somewhere between $289.99 and $299.99. It may or may not come with pack-in figures, but that information is sketchy at the moment. Our sources strongly believe that it's possible this could be an AT-AT vehicle (as leaked by Toy Ark around Toy Fair) while others have suggested a playset like the Death Star (but that could be a stretch). Whatever it is, it's honestly a little bit early fuzzy to lock down at the moment. No matter what it is, it is certainly expensive and hopefully will be HUGE.
I have seen pictures of the TARDIS in the BCS Facebook group and so far everyone loves it! It is really a great piece. I think it is a great idea with the three different backdrops.Big Chief's 1/6th scale 11th/12th Doctor's TARDIS along with their Tom Baker Doctor (with replacement, grinning, head). The scarf is a fan creation by a member of GallifreyBase, considerably more accurate than the one supplied with the doll. The police box is cast in "poly-stone" (and thus heavy as the dickens), has three backdrop plates representing the interiors of Matt Smith, when he debuted, the interior from "The Snowmen" and the orange lighting scheme of Peter Capaldi's latest series. The roof piece has an LED for the lamp and 4 more to illuminate the "police box" signs and windows. (The camera flash washed out the lighting effect.)
Sincerely,
Bill
Cool find! Where are the speakers from? I plan to buy one day the Lorne on stage from Buffy but there are so many different ones, I can't decide:Got this Avatar figure at the garage sale next door for 25 cents. Looks a little like Pete Townsend. The guitar is Playmobile.
The other guy is Jake with a head swap and I believe the girl is Willow. The instruments, stands and speakers are all Playmobile.
CCC.
I need to get my treadmill out of my library and clear out my old comics before Combiner Wars Computron comes out this summer. (Or Titans Return Fortress Maximus). Anybody want an old, loud treadmill for free?
The Playmobile City Life series. The first set was 3 people, microphones, 2 guitar stands, 1 guitar, 1 keyboard, and 4 speakers. I then got a keyboard player and keyboard. I have melded the keyboards together in a stack, no pic yet. Then I got the band box with 3 figures, 2 guitars mics and stands. This last was a couple of weeks ago half price at Tuesday Morning. Still looking for a good drum kit, may have to scratch build it.They all look so cool. What kind of Playmobil? I want to get tons of those speakers and make something.
