The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

I problably could animate this guy. That's from Figma, "The Thinker". I already also ordered their "Venus" (it comes with arms!) and "David" statue.

Please forgive the crappy pictures, these were done with the old camera. He comes with a second back (as the one when he is sitting is kinda twisted), another head and several hands. And at night, he comes alive!

Very odd thing to have a poseable figure of. I was kinda hoping you'd take a pic in the "Fiyapowah!" pose though! (Night at the Museum 2)

It's odd, weird, crazy, different, and therefore I needed to have it once I saw it ;) This is only the small and relatively cheap (when ordered directly from Japan) version, there is also a more expensive 1:6 version.

Sorry, I need to watch the movie first, have only seen the first part. When I see it I'll think of you!

Today I was reminiscenting of old times. Any Stargate SG-1 fans among us? These are some of the first pictures I ever did, back in 2007. A friend's idea. One friend made the small books, the other did the writing on the plate, the third made the juggling balls.

It's a recreation of some of the memorable scenes of the episode "Window of Opportunity" (which made me a Stargate fan, which made me later an action figure fan, and therefore I'm here today!)

The expediency of acquired knowledge is preponderant upon determining a justifiable conclusion, unattainable at this time.

Update: Scarlet Witch and Karnak have been found, and are safe on the new shelf. :p They'd just fallen out of the box and landed behind a pile of laundry I hadn't put away. Always put away fresh laundry! :p

No hanky panky going on there? Gotta watch those martial artsy guys with their quick hands and knowledge of pressure points.;)

plus, we don't want Scarlet Witch having more kids. didn't work out so well the first time.

I had a feeling that one was supposed to be her, but with Hollywood makeup and costumes you sometimes don't know. Thanks!

Pick this Wonder Woman up at Target today for my wife. It's pretty awesome and the wife loves it, WW is her favorite. The funny thing is that it comes in two paint options. The BvS paint scheme or a brighter, comic colors theme.

Batman v. Superman toys are out. It's confusing this time around. There's actually two 6" lines. One is in scale with the previous Movie Masters stuff, but has a lower quality of sculpting and articulation. The other is slightly taller and more in scale with DC Universe classics, and also sports the better articulation and sculpt. Anyways, the latter is one I'm interested in. I grabbed Armored Batman and Superman, though the first wave also includes a regular Batman and Wonder Woman (who of course is nowhere to be found.)

It appears to me that they took the previous Man of Steel Movie Masters Superman and gave him slightly longer calves so that he would fit in with the new scale. Other than that, the head, and the lower waist, it appears to be identical. I've got the Man of Steel version on the right for comparison:

Yeah the head is different. Neither is perfect Henry Cavill, though. It bugs me that they've messed up scale so badly. I mean, I always hated that the Movie Masters were too short to fit well with DCUC, but now the Batman v. Superman stuff is too tall for the Man of Steel stuff. Oh well. Hopefully they'll keep to the slightly taller scale going forward.

My recently purchased Muppets Swedish Chef kitchen playset arrived today and it's even more impressive than my Pigs in Space playset. So much functionality and the accessories are so cute. It's great for figures of all scales, primarily for 6/7 inch scale figures but even some little guys can have fun here. Now the Mario Bros have that perfect Brooklyn Apartment. :D

Oh my goodness *is dead* (can one die of jealousy?)
This is simply and utterly awesome. I love it! So many great details and accessories, and it looks like a real kitchen. Not the pink Barbie version you often get. And I read from Amazon comments that all the drawers etc. open and move. Brilliant. But a bit expensive? 200+ dollars? Surely worth every penny, but sadly a bit out of my price range. Is that the original price or already the "has come out years ago and people ask for silly money now" price?

Here is my meager (from my childhood days in Eastern Germany) kitchen which fits better with the smaller Torchwood and Doctor Who figures in part 1 of a rather long story about them baking Christmas cookies:

The Torchwood team is baking Christmas cookies in Tosh's kitchen.

Tosh is rolling out the dough.

On the table we have all incredients, tools and even a cook book.

Gwen is mixing the eggs.

She should be more careful though...

... as some already have hit the ground.

Now let's have a closer look at the kitchen.

Ianto is rolling dark and light dough together.

Then he cuts off black and white checkered cookies.

Jack is more concerned where to put his stocking to get it filled.

He's also trying to teach them how to bake cookies. As if they didn't know!

TWC17375x500.jpg

To distract him, Tosh sends him to the fridge to get out more eggs.

TWC18375x500.jpg

Jack is wondering about some of the stuff Tosh keeps in her fridge.

(I have a second part where the fire brigade has to come)
