The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Cool, thanks for checking.

Yeah, the SDCC Jabba with Salacious Crumb and the unique accessories and diorama packaging should have been what brick-and-mortar retail got and not a figure inside a largely empty black box with no accessories, but whaddya gonna do. Hasbro's Comic-Con exclusives tend to be this way, at least when it comes to the 6" Black Series figures.

At least include the Salacious Crumb if nothing else. His addition to the basic retail package would have made a big difference.

I agree.. most of the other black series figures come with at least one or two essential accessories.

I ordered two on Amazon, and might return my Target Jabba tomorrow.

One I'll open and put him (of course) with slave girl Leia.

And the other I'll keep sealed.

It shouldn't be that much longer before the 6” Luke and Wampa and the Han with Tauntaun should be released, but with the huge numbers of unsold Jabbas and Biker Scouts/Speeder Bikes I'm not sure how many of the new sets many retailers will bother to stock. Shelf space is already pretty full.

About ten years ago Toys "R" Us carried a highly-detailed line of Allied and German WWII figures, armored vehicles and other gear that looked very good and accurate for their pricepoints. I forget what the line was called but they were pretty faithful recreations of WWII uniforms and equipment. I haven't seen them in years but I remember being impressed by the sculpting and overall quality of the figures and vehicles.

I think I remember seeing these on an end cap 5 or 6 years ago, including some of the commanders as well as the standard issue soldiers. Some of those Nazis would make great back up for the Red Skull now.

CCC.

So I am looking on Google for any Nazi type 1/18 scale figures and I find this ad for Monster Island Toys on Yo Joe, but every link I click I get "page not found."

My response to that is "buyer not impressed."

I would love to get German, Soviet, and Finn soldiers in their winter attire. I remember seeing those at Toys R Us, but I wasn't into buying stuff like that.

I don't remember what the line was called but I think they had green camo and desert-colored packaging and you could get figures and vehicles from both Europe and North Africa. Most of the figures and equipment seemed to be American or German but there might have been some British and Soviet figures and other nationalities that were released.

Here's the new Capullo series Commissioner Gordon. The essential Bat-family character finally gets the excellent figure that he deserves:

Wow! That's a fantastic looking figure!

It seriously is. Makes me wish I had some money lying around. Not that the figure by itself is expensive, but it would need some of the others to go along with it.

Play-Doh really should have thought ahead. Just sayin'

Maybe my brain is wired differently but it was a minute or two before the shape of the toy registered "penis" to me. As someone who has decorated more than a few cakes my first thought was Play-doh would be pretty hard to push through that thing. I was also wondering what the rest of the set was like. Cakes or cupcakes?

And just for the record, my penis doesn't look anything like that. :rommie:

2003 realistic-style Clone Wars (Tartakovsky microseries) Asajj Ventress!

Nice. Thanks for sharing that image.

My LCS just got in their shipment of Wave Three Capullo Series figures. This includes the Zero Year Batman and the aforeposted by @Obi-Wan Jim Gordon. I will be going in on either Friday or Saturday (since they're closed tomorrow and I won't make it tonight) to pick up both along with the Capullo Batgirl (the only version of her first 52'Verse suit that I've wanted to get). Will also be getting the Capullo Catwoman.

My collection has finally taken off this year...I'm probably going to need another shelf at some point as I'm running out of space. It's amazing how fast this happens!
