Considering what they did to Worf and Wesley I have no idea what this ruckus is about? They cut Will's scene, after a tearful reunion on some game-show where he told the gang how much he misses them... And poor Dorny! The lad goes from Ambassador to Kronos, local boy makes good, return the hero, won a fricking war, killed the old king, made the new king and everything, but some how he had degenerated into some toppled wreck cast aside left to drink himself to death in the corner of Deanna's CLOTHED wedding probably because Berman was annoyed at how much better DS9 was than his own ldinky little projects.
BacK to be being mean about janeway.
There's conflicting canon that fetching Chakotay was her first mission as Captain on her first ship (because the writing room sucks or the timelines hiccuped.) but she was put on the clock to "apprehend" (What exactly was that tri-cobolt device for? Poisoning the well after they left that what ever base or planet Chakotay was on so that it couldn't be reused by another cell, or was it simply a mission of assassination and frankly was she ordered to take out the Indian whether her tactical officer was out of harms way or no?) a terrorist cell and get back in home in under two weeks.
That is so a failing grade.
7 years is significantly longer than two weeks.
And then you consider that no matter how many people the Maquis, these distinct Maquis MURDERED, that they were probably pardoned during the welcome home ceremony which is the exact opposite of when a doctor has to save a deathrow convict for some silly disease when they are going to be executed in the morning because not only did she get lost, but she never needed to go on the mission in the first place since Starfleet had accidentally ordered her to capture HEROES who were all given medals by the admiralty.
(You're not thinking fourth dimensionally Marty!)
Are you watching Boardwalk Empire? That fat little kid playing Al Capone? All the power being thrown around to stop the consumption in hooch and in the end, it was the IRS who got him for tax evasion just moments before he could have began selling booze openly.
Same difference with we legitimization of the Maquis.
Elliot Ness had a mental Breakdown in public during a press conference some years after the fact when a reporter asked him if he was pissed about not capturing Capone as a Bootlegger.
I see the same fate for Janeway.
