That thing [SPOILERS]

Roshi

Admiral
Admiral
I thought a thread was necessary in order to talk about, vent or even recover from what happened
b/w Han and Ben.
Man, dem feels! I feel gutted!
But in a good sense. Ballsy on JJ's part. He went where Lucas wouldn't go 30 years ago.

The thing in question is probably the part I'm most excited about. That and Rey becoming the titular Force that Awakens when she
takes's up Luke's old lightsaber and beats down Kylo Ren with it.

A loooot of the rest of the film sounds like it rehashes ANH so I'm up for whatever new it wants to give us.

I dont think that we need spoiler codes here? Since its in the thread title.

Yeah.. it was pretty intense scene. Ben is really a messed up kid. I did get little bit spoiled by the rumors and speculations that Han would die, but it didnt matter in the end.

I am glad they did not make Kylo another disposable bad guy like Maul.......

Well, the Starkiller base did explode so we dont know how many of the bad guys survived. I'm kind of disappointed if this was the last time we saw Phasma. She seemed like a cool character now with a personal grudge againts Finn. Hux can go.

A lot of the plot rumors going back to the summer have been confirmed now that the movie's out. But that Han dies probably doesn't surprise 95% of fans...Harrison Ford probably had that as a stipulation for agreeing to come back and reprise the role in the first place.

Still, knowing it and seeing it onscreen are two different things. It's gonna be tough for me to watch.

A character actually says something like,

"General Hux has already left."

So Hux learned the lesson of Tarkin.

Phasma will be back - Kathleen Kennedy has already confirmed it and said she's one of her favourite characters and we'll see more of her in VIII.

Thought it was a little too predictable, I hadn't been spoiled but they just foreshadowed it too much. Disappointing to be honest, but better than just having him sitting around in front of a door playing with wires in the next movie.

I had read rumors that he was going to die, so I wasn't surprised, but it's good to see I wasn't the only person who thought his death was telegraphed (at least from the moment Leia tells Han to bring back their son).

I think for me, a big problem, was it was just way too much like the first and I knew Han was going to be the Obi-Wan this time.

Forgot that line. So I guess all of the bad guys are coming back. Good. One big problem with the PT was disposable bad guys.

I dunno about Phasma or whatever, they just seemed to stick her in there to appease SJWs. She didn't do anything and was in it for maybe 3 minutes total. It was surprising considering the focus on her in articles.

I realised not long before it happened that it was going to happen.

I don't mind the decision creatively, but I did find it really distracted me from the big fight scene that followed. I mean, it's a huge thing to do in a Star Wars movie, especially at this stage.

The scene was actually on the net last evening (someone posted cell phone vid) - made me want to see the movie more.

No one seemed to care he was dead either, it was just kind of underwhelming. And yeah, I kind of knew he was going to play the role Obi-Wan played in the first movie when they decided to go plant the bombs.

Chewie's reaction broke my heart. For him it essentially means he failed to fulfill his life debt that he supposedly has, right (assuming that is still canon)?
In any case he lost his best friend.

Seeing him go to "war" on the base as a conequence was very satisfying, though.

I felt bad when he was just sitting in the cockpit crying :(

Poor Chewie. :(

Whether he has a Wookiee life debt or not, he's lost his friend and companion of decades.

She's the Boba Fett of TFA. I suspect all involved will be fine with that.

If it gives women another character to enjoy so much the better.
