Terminus Timeline - Ships and Interiors

Dusting this off to show off some new wip that's not for Challenger, but might be used for both Tiny Trek and Challenger at some point

Most of this ship model is complete at this point (need some windows and markings yet) so I'm showing off a little. I'm building out the actual ship from the desk model of the Edmonton I built like 2 or 3 years ago at this point. Decided I wanted to have one of these show up in Tiny Trek. Well not the Edmonton because she got destroyed, but another one of the class. Also trying new lighting techniques with the lights and nacelle domes. Completely built in Blender for Artists =)

While the Constitution Class was still on the drawing board, Starfleet was in need of a multi-mission light cruiser that could function as the backbone of the fleet. Ending up with everything ranging from escort duties to hauling long range supplies, the Portsmouth Class fulfilled it's duty for 25 years before being phased out for the Miranda Class Heavy Cruiser.

The bigger ships would get the glory, but the Portsmouth class was the workhorse of the fleet, keeping the logistics division moving. While the Miranda gained a lot of favor, the Portsmouth's reliability and extreme range without maintenance on standard nacelles of its era kept it active within the fleet for almost 50 years before being turned over to private owners.

The original ship of the class, the Portsmouth, resides in a fleet museum, while some of them are still active as long haul transports well into the 24th century.

Really nice design, it reminds me a bit of the Ranger class because of the position of the secundairy hull. :mallory::techman:

You're not the first to make the comparison. I purposely only used the TOS blueprints for the exterior of the Enterprise (photos of the pilot model too) and the little 3d desk model I'd built a few years ago to flesh her out a bit. No other references. The desk model was a kitbash of low poly Enterprise parts and Liberty class parts I tossed together not intending to actually build the Portsmouth out and well, here we are. :P

Finished up the build of the ship with the registry I'm going to end up using first, the Hagerstown.

I've been working on Nogura's Phase II office based off the partly unused blueprints from Phase II. They would re-use elements for the TMP Cargo Bay.

I re-used some of my old furniture from Tiny Trek (I really need to redo it in Blender since it's older Truespace 3 stuff. the flat panel desk monitor too) and then pulled in some office chairs I had laying around in Daz and some of the Alien Botanical sets.

I did add the giant viewscreen but it's based off the Phase II Briefing Room version just scaled way the hell up along with the backlit lighting behind it.

The desk model is my take on the Baton Rouge mixing in some Kelvin elements to the original STC design, just gold plated. It's not really meant to be anything more than a desk model as I never intended to use the Baton Rouge in Tiny Trek. The one on his desk is of the Hokkaido, one of his last commands before becoming Admiral.

It's a very plush room, quite fit for a high up in Starfleet, your use of colours give it that extra kick, business like but also having that certain extra to impress.:mallory:

Oh, I'd love an office like this! And especially a light-up plant like the one in the lefthand corner. Great work!

I started playing with the Blockade Runner model I built a few years ago now to revamp it a little bit and then remembered that the bridge is largely unfinished, so that took priority considering I'll be needing it. Based off the Phase II Klingon bridge designed by Jefferies for what would turn into the Motion Picture. None of this design was used at all. Going to have the control panels be something I can swap out so it can double as a Klingon or Romulan bridge with some color changes and decor. This one is going to be for the Orions obviously. ;)

I think when you're in space a long time you really need some colour to prevent yourself from going bananas..

Looks like the Galaxy Class, made in the 60s
