I agree. This is why womens careers tend to come to a halt when they turn 40. Or if your lucky you get to be the mom of the main character or something like that.

Some guys think that women only exist as sexual objects, that’s why they don’t like the idea of an older woman playing a major role where she isn’t the crazy old grandma. Sarah was a badass in her late 20s, she’d keep herself in fighting shape until the day she died and that would be one hell of a fight to take her down too. The grim reaper would tap out when it came to her.I guess I just don't get why it's even an issue. People get old. I think Linda looks great. It's not like she's supposed to be playing Sarah at 29.
Unrelated, one thing I really hope for (but I know I am in the minority) is that they keep "The Terminator theme" where in belongs...credits only. That scene in Genisys where the theme plays in an actual scene was lame as hell, and not just because the movie was in general.I know a lot (most?) people just wanna hear that dun-dun dun dun-dun, but I dread it. (Opening and closing credits excepted though, I as I say.)

A normal 62 year old who has been chain smoking for a long time. But I give her full credit for getting ripped again. The biceps are on full display. But I know she's gone through a lot of the same sort of stuff Carrie Fisher has with bipolar and it shows.

There's some truth to that. But the number of attractive male actors who continue to have substantial leading roles well after they've passed the age of 50, significantly outnumbers the female actors who have a post 50 career in leading roles.
Enjoying hot young people in leading roles doesn't mean you *have* to slag off older actresses for being older. Harrison Ford has looked like shit for years, and people still ate it up when he returned to the Millenium Falcon. Linda Hamilton looks perfect for her character and her character is literally the best one in this entire franchise. Fans should've been celebrating her return, not complaining about her age.

I actually even wonder if this scene was ever intended to be in the movie at all. They shot this scene first in order to beat a deadline to qualify for a California state tax break and then immediately after that first day of shooting, production was halted for two months until they were actually ready to start. They knew the setting of the movie and what kind of movie they were trying to shoot, so maybe they said "let's just rip off Terminator and call it a day."
I misread Whitney Huston's wiki earlier today.
I though that it said that her date of birth was 1920.
More likely they probably just picked the easiest scene to shoot in a hurry with just the principle and a few extras at a simple location with minimal dressing. I mean they're not going to change the wardrobe of the main actor for half the movie just on a whim. It's also possible that since they were spending the whole day on it, may as well try and elaborate on what would have otherwise just been a scene of her looking at a map then taking off with some clothes and a bike.
That's not to say that they didn't probably expect this would be cut back in editing either, since it's fairly incidental and could just have easily been done in pick-ups.

I agree. Even here I think it's been like one person who felt she looked to old. I mean I suppose at some point someone can get to a age where you don't buy them as being able to be a action hero but she doesn't look like to me in the teaser. She still looks bad ass!

I didn't care for old Indiana Jones either but Han Solo was a different story for me. Luke Skywalker was a downer because of where they took his character, not appearance. One of the famous Star Trek stories is how Harvey Bennett turned the movie franchise around by NOT hiding the actors age and made growing old a theme in Star Trek 2. Good writing makes all the difference.
IMO Linda Hamilton's character looks exactly how I thought she would look years later. Arnie is no longer showing off his biceps, but he's aged pretty gracefully. I'm surprised Robert Patrick didn't pop in seeing as how his portrayal of the liquid Terminator was so popular and has been copied ever since.
Looks like there's a complicated rights issue preventing that. This article also mentions that a revival attempt as a Netflix series has failed.
