Terminator VI

Was only expecting a quick tease but this is a proper trailer. Looking forward to seeing Linda Hamilton and Arnie back in action. I've done eight Fast and Furious movies I can handle another formula Terminator with the originals back. Plus Luna is cool and Mackenzie Davis looks ready to go. I'm up for it.

Meaning what? She would be accepted by the public with open arms if she portrayed Sarah Connor again? Sarah Connor the ripped bad-ass from T2? (note the cig in her hand in this shot)

James Cameron has a habit for coming up with ideas that seem stupid at first and making them work, but he's got his work cut out for him if he thinks he can put a spin on Linda Hamilton's appearance in a way that will be a crowd pleaser.

I mean, I'm generally sympathetic to original actors coming back rather than rebooting, but in this case I think it's ill-advised.

Are you suggesting that a sixty year old woman can't play a bad-ass action character? Because if anyone can make that work it would absolutely be Linda Hamilton. Sigourney Weaver could do it too and there are probably dozens of other women that age that could work. No one seems to mind when Harrison Ford or Bruce Willis go back to their old action roles.

Because they're men.

Isn't the funny how the same exact voices who hate female heroes always use Sarah Connor and Ripley as examples that they like. Then when they bring Sarah played by Linda Hamilton back, those same voices hate her too. If Ripley comes back for that Aliens sequel that ignores other films expect them to turn on her. They just hate women and they're pretty transparent about that.

How can Linda Hamilton be a issue with anyone from the trailer. She is like pretty much the only good thing in it. Also being old actually helps make someone look more like they can kick ass. It's a easier sale than young people with super model looks. Hamilton looks like someone who has been fighting and surviving for along time. Miss the good old days when your movies could star people in their late 30's and 40's and even older.

Imagine how the dudebros would have reacted to this scene cut from Captain Marvel. It's a great reference to T2.

Am I the only one getting sick of the action movie trope of a character crouched with their head down, and dramatically raising their head up to eye level, as in 0:42 of the trailer?

A hero, to some they're just some kind of weird sandwich.

Yeah, I think some people are also forgetting the kick arse biker-granny snipers from 'Mad Max: Fury Road'.

Yes but not as much as characters doing a assorted amount of back flips and human bodies being tossed about like they are rag dolls. Not all actions scenes have to look like they are inside a video game, especially in a Terminator movie. Forgive us,Stan Winston and Rick Baker for we have forsaken you!

I wish that could have been in the movie so much now. It's perfect.
All joking aside, I can see why they cut it. It doesn't really add anything to either the plot or Carol's character and in a way. I mean, we already know she could drop-kick that muppet clear over a building if she wanted.
Personally, I think the final cut is snappier and has a funnier (if less gratifying) approach where the audience gets to smile at the visual gag of the smash-cut to her driving off with his bike. Did she just ignore him and nick his bike while he was in the shop? Did she bounce his head off the pavement first? Doesn't matter, because either way she came out on top and he looks like a fool.

Yikes. I hope they can fix this. I wasn't particularly impressed with the trailer. Nothing really stood out. They didn't have the Terminator theme play
