It's called "getting old," she's sixty.

I don't think SCC ignored T3 at least they took SC's cancer over from it, then they time jumped and prevented T3, IIRC, it's been some time.

You're right, they did reference cancer...but they also said that Sarah would have died in 2005 from it, which is eight years after she died in T3.

Edit: Actually, come to think of it, SCC's pilot is set in 1999, two years after T3 Sarah died.

Ah ok, I haven't seen it since it originally aired, should probably give it another round since I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Meaning what? She would be accepted by the public with open arms if she portrayed Sarah Connor again? Sarah Connor the ripped bad-ass from T2? (note the cig in her hand in this shot)

James Cameron has a habit for coming up with ideas that seem stupid at first and making them work, but he's got his work cut out for him if he thinks he can put a spin on Linda Hamilton's appearance in a way that will be a crowd pleaser.

I mean, I'm generally sympathetic to original actors coming back rather than rebooting, but in this case I think it's ill-advised.

Maybe she'll be playing the Grandma Sarah Connor sitting on the park bench from the deleted ending of T2.

She could, but that kind of thing would not put many butts in seats.

I liked that ending. I consider it the ultimate endgame to which all possible Terminator timelines will eventually lead.

Meaning: All this convoluted temporal horseshit will eventually result in a timeline where time travel does not exist - and therefore, neither will Skynet, whose entire history is dependent on time travel.

If T6 has a part to play in that, I'm all for it.

All we know is she's in the movie. It doesn't necessarily mean she's gonna be running around still in her T2 outfit and shotgunning robots for two hours. For all we know she might be in about two scenes.
I know it's "the internet" and this it what happens, but as I get older I get so bored of people running riot and formulating ideas with teeny tiny scraps of information, and then actually forming opinions on said imaginary notions.

They could put a spin on "You can't outrun your destiny" sort of thing.

It's been peaceful for Sarah Connor but a Terminator still shows up to face off against politician John Connor and grandma Sarah.

The other movies could just be alternate timelines.

Maybe she'll be a CGI deaged Terminator. They did it with Arnold.

They've already stated Hamilton's begun training for the part. That doesn't sound like the character gets a cameo or that she's 'Granny Sarah' sat on a porch.

So, if we get a ripped Sarah kicking ass at sixty, I'm sure she'll be rocking a few wrinkles and bloody good for her !

They could always go full make-up and have her face be deformed from a Terminator attack. She could wear a hood most of the time.

It's going to work. Linda's real life wrinkles add to Sarah's character who has had a very stressful life full of danger and traumatic experiences

I don't see the problem, she aged, it happens to everyone.
I'm optimistic, I've more or less enjoyed all of the Terminator stuff I've seen, and Cameron coming back is good news.
I thought T3 was meh, loved Sarah Connor Chronicles, and really enjoyed Salvation. I haven't seen Genysis yet.

I hope they don't use make-up or CGI to de-age Linda Hamilton. She looks great as she does now, wrinkles and all.

Seriously? Too many wrinkles? What the fuck?

With the HD make-up they use these days: we're lucky we can tell any of the actors apart (let alone see a wrinkle).

Just how many direct followups to T2 do we need? Genisys was supposed to be a direct followup, and look at what happened. I think the franchise is tired at this point. If they keep having to rehash a key point in the series, it has no future. Yes, that pun was intended ;)

I may sound crazy, but I actually enjoyed Salvation because it dared to be different. I liked the far future setting and the tone of desperation, and it attempted to explore a different side of the Terminator franchise without retreading. It actually went somewhere. All these other sequels seem too concerned about T2ing it.

Yup, that's why I like Salvation so much, too. That and Anton Yelchin was fantastic as Reese.
