Terminator Salvation: Trailer Two Released

Looks like good stuff. Both trailers are getting me pumped.

I was, however, surprised to see that we still have A-10s? Assuming that's not somehow machine-controlled. Of course this movie also shows the resistance having helicopters, something that hasn't been seen in-canon yet in the future.

yes, those are A-10s controlled by the remnants of the USAF.

oh, and the trailer? FREAKIN AWESOME!

love the bit with the mototerminator doing that sliding spin

^ Yep. The group seen in this movie is not yet the Resistance of the previous films. These are actually factions of the United States military led by General Ashdown (played by Michael Ironside). John Connor is not yet the leader of the Resistance.

Interesting.

One thing I've never known....

Did Skynet start building terminators/other machines BEFORE 'Judgement Day', or after it? I doubt it could have hidden machines until the nukes went off. Then everyone was a bit busy....

You know, call me crazy, but I'm still not sold on this. I can't explain why. Trailers look great. Christian Bale rocks and instills me with some confidence, as does Jonathan Nolan's involvement. The film looks visually stunning....

...and yet I'm still skeptical. Oh well. I still plan on seeing the film regardless and I'll likely enjoy it.

By the way, did anyone else kind of chuckle when right after Conner says "I've never seen anything like this before" in voiceover the very next piece of dialogue is Kate Brewster saying "We've never seen this before". Really? Didn't catch that the first time.

He said "And in this future, I don't know that we can win this war."

This is a fantastic trailer !!
Though fantastic trailers often lead to disappointing movies.

But I'll be seeing this anyway when it comes out.It should be good :bolian:

I will heartily plunk down my hard earned money to watch this movie. I may watch T3 to catch up on what's going on in the T-Verse.

Don't. If you have not seen T3 i would say don't. You wont miss anything (except the end of civilisation as we know it....Just watch a youtube clip of nukes going over a section of the planet and you can ignore the rest of the movie.

But by the looks of the two trailers do watch the new one.

Edit: i just realised my post makes T3 sound better than it is! :).

My first comment about the trailer was, what no HD? I couldn't make out everything in the trailer but ah well. I still can't wait to see it. Its also kinda cool that the remnants of the US military are fighting back against Skynet. I suppose that by 2029 (first Terminator timeframe), the US military has either been beaten to the point that they have to rely on guerilla tactics or their hardware has been downgraded to the point that they are using said tactics.

Looks good, but I think I actually enjoyed the first trailer a bit more. The trademark drumbeat and the tread-rolling-over-skull early in the trailer let me know EXACTLY what I was seeing up on the big screen and got my eyes riveted to the screen for the duration. (I had no idea there was gonna be a T movie trailer that day...was only expecting "Bad Robot" to herald the approach of James T Kirk in a 'vette.) :)

I think I may have been pounding the headrest of the seat in front of me in time with the drums by the end, such was my mighty fanboi heart beating!!

dum dum dum dum-dum!

(no "tek" or "ka", as it ain't middle eastern drumming! just plain old 4/4) LOL

Excellent trailer. I'm really looking forward to the film, I must say. I hope it lives up to that trailer.

Only aspects of T3 are being honored in Terminator: Salvation according to an interview done in September. Only a handful of events are still considered canon (Judgment Day, Kate Brewster/Connor).

Depends on the continuity.

T3 - this is an aspect being honored - had humans building machines at the CRS Facility and they became the first generation of Skynet machines.

In the T2 novels Skynet came online thanks to the manipulations of a Skynet Agent sent back in time. She uploaded the schematics into automated factories that Cyberdyne constructed. The first generation of HKs were ordinary automobiles that used Cyberdyne processors.

:wtf: Talk about a paradox!

Now it is...it wasn't earlier.

^ I think that the one in my original link was Standard Definition (to watch HD I had to go to the actual Yahoo Page about the film).
