Terminator Rights Likely to Be Sold

Hopefully this means JJ Abarms will do the Terminator reboot in the next couple of years. :p

I think Cameron just moved on. Maybe he wanted to do T3 at some point or another, but he was given the opportunity to do T3, but he passed.

I heard the reason why he passed was because the producers already had a script that they liked and wanted Cameron to use that material as a template. Also, at the time, he was more interested in doing True Lies II.

Personaly, if I had the money (I actualy MIGHT if things come down right)

Do tell.

I have an invention, we'll release the details in a few months, you'll hear about it, were putting together a full sized model to shop to investors right now

Congratulations!... I think. Just making sure, it's not some sort of advanced robotic infiltration unit or a powerful new nuclear defense network computer, is it? (I'm not fond of the computers that play chess either. They get ideas.)

Dare I mention that my TERMINATOR novel goes on sale in twenty days? (I just got my author copy this morning.)

This is the first I'm hearing of it! Congratulations! What's it about?

Thanks for posting that!

To answer another Poster, I'm don't have any more Terminator books in the pipeline, but I'd be happy to do more.

Is there a connection between the 2003 and 2018 stories beyond the shared universe? It's not obvious from the posted description.

Who's decision is it if you get to do more or not, if the book sells well will they approach you? enlighten me a bit on the license book system please, it's something i've been interested it

That's up to the publisher, Titan Books. If they want to do more TERMINATOR books, they'll work out a deal with Halycon for the rights. Then they'll start looking for authors. Hopefully, I would be on the list since everybody seemed happy with how COLD WAR turned out . . . .

(Timothy Zahn and Alan Dean Foster have also written TERMINATOR books for Titan.)

Basically, the publishers buy the book rights from the licensors, then hire the writers. If possible, they tend to use writers they've worked with before just because it's easier that way. No surprises.

allright, thanks, I ask because i have a Terminator book i'm working on, it's a collection of alternate timelines I wrote in my youth that i'm fleshing out more and tieing together
