So the concensus on Riley is that she perfectly typifies the result of network interference?

I don't think it'll be that easy. They certainly seemed pissed off at each other, despite their empathy for their respective situations. Charley throwing down that bible suggests a major shift in his character. Up until now he's been this really nice guy who's tried to make everyone happy. Now he's lost his faith and his wife and is mad and frustrated at the situation in which he now finds himself. What will that mean for his character? Who knows. I'm also fascinated by what'll happen to Ellison.
I agree with the casting of this character, Riley. Decent actress, though I'd like to see her be a little less glib (of course she is a teenager).

To me at least, she looks a bit like Linda Hamilton, which Lena Headey does not. I found it vaguely distracting.

Next time Cromartie will paint a tunnel on a rock wall. Then john zooms right into "tunnel" Cromartie look in and train runs him over.

Of course they can't swing, and this has nothing to do with intelligence, but with the simple fact they are too dense and heavy, and can't produce the thrust with their hands and feet required to get afloat. It's simple little physics calculation.
And you can't break a damn near Skynet HQ. Skynet HQ is Norad, the Cheyenne mountain complex. Which incidentally is turned into a massive heavily armored complex by Skynet in the future.

Cool. I've been thinking of picking up a Terminator book, might as well start with this one. I looked it up on Amazon. Never heard of S.M. Stirling. How is this book?
^ It's a trilogy and it's been out of print so your best bet may be to try to find them on eBay. Here is the progression:

First two are great, the last is hit and miss because it rushes a storyline. If you like TSCC you'll like this novel series. There are many similarities between the two. These novels are also more like the series because they ignore T3 (because the novels came before the movie).

A new theory (since this involves spoilers for T2: Infiltrator and TurtleTrekker may be getting them I've spoiler coded)
I wonder if T-1001 was the direct cause of the plane crash to help support her cover story. In the T2 novel series there are two incidents with planes. In one the I-950 dispatches a T-800 under her control to kill the President of Cyberdyne's wife in a plane crash. Later another is used to attack the Connors as they boarded a plane bound for the US from the Cayman Islands. I wonder if she may have done something similar.
Interesting thought. Another idea could be...
...that the photos are all faked and there was no plane crash so that Weaver can gain Ellison's trust and use him for whatever purpose she has in mind. That was my first assumption not being aware of the novels.
I used Hulu to have the show playing in the background at work today. I think I'll do it again tonight from home...two different IP addresses and ISPs!
It'll just have to wait until after I finish my beer to celebrate the Red Sox going to the postseason (and eliminating the Yankees in the process).
Does anyone feel that John and Sarah Connor are the two weakest characters on the show? To say they've been diminished from Terminator 2 is an understatement.
The producers apparently think the best way to portray John Connor is as a self-centered, whiny emo-brat. In 12-13 hours of television, he hasn't displayed a shread of being the potential leader that Edward Furlong showed in 2 hours of T2. Then you have Sarah, who is completely wishy-washy about everything. Not to mention completely out-of-character, from having her sign over custody of John at the mental hospital (though if this John Connor were my son, I would have done the same thing) and actually STOPPING THE VAN on her way to rescuing her son. The real Sarah Connor never would have done either of those things.
Everyone else though is good. Cameron is gold whenever she's on the screen. Reese is a great character who has been underutilized and weirdly subservient to Sarah this season. Ellison and Cromartie are compelling and Charlie's a good, likeable character. The only time John was even remotely likeable yesterday was with Busy Phillips character in the beginning.
