Teen Wolf Season 5

By now it's evident that Mason is the Beast. That was totally out of the left field, seeing as there was no indication of him being a werewolf in the first place. Heck, even the Dread Doctors ignored him for most of the season. I'm waiting to see how the rest of this season will unfold. It has been so-so with the unnecessarily convoluted plot.

Well, except him being the only teenager prominently on the show who wasn't already a supernatural creature. As soon as they said that the Beast was a teenager, it was kind of obvious it had to be him.

But he's not a chimera either. It's not like the DD experimented on him. It would've made more sense to have Corey as the Beast.

The chimera's weren't chimera's because the Dread Doctor's experimented on them - they were already chimera's, and this allowed the Dread Doctor's to implant the supernatural DNA into them. And they did explain why Mason fit into this category in this weeks episode

Another classic example of why I don't like this season's writing. I was under the mistaken impression that the chimera teens were formerly ordinary kids who were experimented on and made supernatural by the DD. Besides, how could they be chimeras and not have supernatural abilities in the first place?

To be honest, this was clearly indicated when they were trying to figure out who might be a chimera with Scott's mum looking at hospital records to see who had recieved an organ transplant or a blood transplant etc. They WERE ordinary kids, but they were chimera's because they had somebody else's DNA in them - with Haydn, it was a kidney transplant, Tracy and Donovan had a skin graft etc

All I see are plot holes. Could the transplanted organs have supernatural properties, possibly the work of the DD? Or at the very least, were they harvested from supernatural beings? The DD's motive of injecting these teens with "supernatural DNA" doesn't make any sense, considering Beacon Freaking Hills is the epicenter of all supernatural happenings. I enjoy watching this show, and I wanted to like this season, but I can't wait for this arc to be over.

They surely packed a lot of stuff into the finale.

Mason turned into Gilles Marini, the original Beast of Gevaudan, and started attacking people, including Lydia. Scott and company believed that Mason could still be saved and brought back to his normal self. Parrish the Hellhound fought tooth and nail with the Beast.

The faceoff between Malia/Braeden and Desert Wolf just dragged on. This subplot was the weakest part of this season.

So many twists and turns as well. Deucalion had been playing Theo and led him to believe that he could absorb the Beast's power. As it turned out, Deucalion was Scott's ally too, and ultimately they wanted to defeat Sebastien with the cane. Gerard's attempt at doublecrossing the team was thwarted by Chris. The team managed to separate Mason from the Beast and also defeated Sebastian while Theo was pulled underground by his "dead" sister.

I finally got back to this and finished up the season this morning.
The whole season had been kind of a mess, but thought it managed to come together a bit at the end.
Mason suddenly being a Chimera was a random, but they at least gave a decent explanation.
I liked the callbacks to Allison, it's nice to see them keeping her in the show in a way.
I got a kick out of all of the double crosses in the finale.
So who was The Surgeon, was he one of the other guys from the Sebastien's origin flashbacks?
